Considering that AB and SK provincial regs are already tightest in the world, (Fed ones were a lightweight in comparassion) what's next? Tighten more?

I'm not sure about an exact solution, but we do have environmental costs that aren't being paid.

Do you really believe emissions will drop during a 2.1 million bbl jump in oil sands production? What about conventional oil? Do you have any idea what sort of growth there is on the table? How about coal power in MB?

Or maybe all they had to do was drop in a word to appease?

So, you're okay with the government making false pledges then?

Is it something new?

What sort of tune will Mulcair be humming after touring the oil sands? "We're in the money"?

Technically speaking logging and farming are the only sustainable resources since they are the only two that have the ability to replace what they reap. I suppose hydro could also be considered a renewable resource as well.
However we have several hundred years of fossil fuels in proven reserves which is fairly close to sustainable for a non renewable resource. The key is to wrest control of the resource away from speculators so that all of Canada can benefit from it by giving us affordable energy costs so that our industries have a competitive edge which will keep us all well employed.

Is it something new?

The more union jobs in the oil sands the better MUlcair will like it. Especially if they are CAW jobs.

I don't know. That's why I'm curious to see what his reaction will be.
Should he be touring the conventional fields, potash mines, uranium mines, gold mines, copper mines to get an idea of the big picture?

Spend some time researching what is already on the table and what is slated for Western Canada in regards to resources growth and you'd **** your pants and walk away thinking to yourself "how the hell will we ever be green with this much going on? It's impossible".

It's ****ing massive!

Well he just started 2 months ago. I'm sure he has plenty of time to do his E-Peen 2012 tour.

Oil sands is just a slice of what there is for growth. It would take a couple weeks of touring to get the whole picture.
