I am glad they are gone, cause it makes more room for the young guys, who are chomping
at the bit, for a chance, so here it is, make the most of it.

Vancouver is a joke that will only get funnier.......sorry.;-)

Well, you are smarter than I then, the team hasn't played 'even' a practice game with
themselves yet, no training camp yet, no exhibition games yet, so you must be able
to see into the future, and be must smarter than all the g ms and coaches, you should
let them know your latest information.;-)

Toronto?

Then you heard it here first.

Vancouver will bottom feed especially after they trade the Sedins.

If they are traded, (which I don't believe will happen), there will be a top
player, along with another good player coming in return, as they be sought
after by many teams, so the team won't suffer.
It would be a mistake to trade them, but they should be 2nd line players,
with a new top line, and the team will be stronger.

If they do bottom feed, their feed will be Toronto.;-)

Talloola is the moderator of this thread. She provides information to the ignorant. She knows a lot about the game and we are lucky to have her.

I'm one of the ignorant, but starting to learn a bit reading this. Cut the lady some slack and enjoy the thread. Dang knowledgeable.

Latest Canucks ticket hike has fans fuming

When the Canucks return for the 2008-2009 NHL season, fans will be paying more than ever for the chance to see them.

Since three years ago the price of the seats has jumped a whopping 82 per cent, with fans being asked for $55 for the cheapest seat in the house.

During the 2005-2006 season, the cheapest seat in the house was $30.25. In 2007-2008, it jumped to $49.25.

And this year, it's jumped again to a level where some fans will be paying more than ever.

"I've got two boys, and it's too expensive," said one fan. 'They're pricing me out of the market."

Some fans say it's no longer worth their money. They wonder why they should pay for a team that has never won a Stanley cup, and has missed the playoffs twice in the last three seasons.

"It's kind of hard to justify, isn't it?" said one fan.

But ticket broker Kingsley Bailey says that despite the hike, sales are steady. There's a lot of demand to see teams who don't often visit Vancouver.

"In the Vancouver market, hockey rules, and they know that," said Bailey.

"But I'll tell you this much -- if they don't make the playoffs four out of five years, I truly believe there's going to be some drastic changes. The fans aren't going to come and support the team," he said.

On the rare occasions when I used to watch hockey, it was usually to see Roy tending goal for the Canadians........damn fine goaly and a gentleman to boot

He was a great goalie, and I had the pleasure of watching his whole career. Will never
forget when he played his last game for Montreal. The incident that caused that split
was unforgettable. tremblay left him in the net, even after they were being beaten
by a very large margin, so, when Roy left the ice, and walked right by tremblay, he
said something to him, which apparantly was "This is the last time I will ever play on
this team", hence, the trade to 'colorado avalanche'. Tremblay should have pulled him
from the goal long before the incident, roy was humiliated in the net. He could have
spent his whole career there, and, they are still going to raise his sweater to the
rafters.

Yeah, I agree, but it has been happening for years and years, and doesn't seem to
change much of anything, and I guess they don't care who has to drop out of the
ticket lineup, as long as someone is buying tickets, corporate blocks of tickets, and
people who don't care about the cost. We don't want to see the team do poorly, and
I don't think they will, and will probably make the playoffs, and that is all they need,
as making the playoffs in this market seems to put everyone in a frenzy, even if it
is only 'one' round. Gillis has to spend that 11 million he has left over, and I imagine
he will at some point. If he doesn't spend that money, there will be a big backlash
from fans, because of ticket price increases.
Tampa Bay will probably have a very competetive team this year, and possibly make
a big run in playoffs. Wonder what their ticket prices are, I'm sure, a fraction of what
ours is. I'm going to check around the league.
