So are you blaming the cop and the judge for giving the rapist an excuse? Aren't you doing the same thing you are condemning the cop and judge for?

It's no secret that men are visually intrigued by a scantily clad woman, especially if she's built like a brick ------house. Why do you think there are so many strip joints in the country? We are visually motivated when it comes to the fairer sex.

While I appreciate the long legs that go up to 'there' and the cleavage that is about to pop free, do yourselves a favor ladies and use a little modesty when you dress. Sometimes leaving things to the imagination is far sexier than the in-your-face fashion we see some wear. I don't think that makes me a prude. If anything, it shows a longing to get back to a more humble, modest approach to fashion. Honestly, do you know how difficult it is to carry on a conversation with a lady when her double D's are about to make an appearance? I find my self stroking my chin and saying stuff like "interesting". She thinks I'm referring to her opinions when in fact I'm referring to her chest.

Perhaps covering all of your body, including the face, would work. I think there's a name for those garments...
I blamed nobody. I simply stated that the temptation is greater. I would never justify an inappropriate action by a rapist, neither would I blame a woman if she wore revealing clothes.
Unfortunately there are a lot of people of both genders, who just have to push everything right to the limit in a misguided notion that they are either asserting their authority or testing how far their "rights" extend. Most people who act normally and don't do this stuff very seldom have their rights challenged- at least I seldom have.

yeah, I know what you mean, and I'm not a man, I remember my old mother in law, (a robust heavy
italian lady), whose breasts bulged out and showed lots, and she was a very straight laced type of
person, but where could she put them, italians don't wear burkas, but when standing and chatting
with someone whose bulging like that, it is difficult 'not' to look there, and I'm not the least
bit interested sexually in her boobs, they just attract attention, I couldn't imagine having breasts
that big, (and definitely didn't want them that big).
They came with the 100lbs of overweightness. (such a word ?).

You bet Ger, I've heard that one dozens of times over the past 30 years, BUT that wasn't what my post was about - it was more about social issues - vulgar music emminating from the boom box at 4000 decibels, the waist of the jeans riding just below the ass, changing lanes 5' in front of you, no signal, tires squealing, using profane language in a loud voice in a public place...........Just to name a few. :smile:

That's not what we're talking about in this thread JLM. We are only talking about blaming a woman for the way she dresses for sexual asualts against her person. You stating that you haven't had any problems like that, or those you know, because you and they dress more "conservatively" falls right into that little ditty. What happens when it's decided that your idea of "conservative" dress becomes "risque"? In some society's a women wearing less than neck to wrist to ankle covering is considered vulgar. Women dressed in pants and a tshirt are considered flaunting. In some society's women who get raped bear some of the legal blame for getting raped.
So, you are saying that if a child was to see a naked woman, or man for that matter, that they would look at that person in a sexual manner. Is that correct?
Nothing wrong with looking beautiful. If someone feels that is an invitation to unwanted flirtation or more, it's their problem. On the other hand, should someone dress in a way that "showcases" aspects of their body in public, there is nothing wrong with staring at them. If that makes them feel uncomfortable, the problem is theirs.
It also doesn't change the fact that I care little about your opinion on the matter. that is why the question was asked of Karrie and not you. I'll be sure to ask your opinion if it ever concerns me.
