See this election isn't about traditions or even issues anymore
This election is about a Prime Minister who lost touch with the
people and now they just want to be rid of him. They no longer
care even if we go into deficit as long as we get rid of him.
That I find surprising on the surface. Then I see what has the
folks all worked up. Big business and the wealthy are doing
well and the average guy is not. Then I think of the message
many sent i am going to vote for my own interests. Well the
fact is there are more average guys out there than there are big
businesses and rich folks.

The people have lost touch with Govt, especially which level of Govt does what. Got pothole issues? talk to you municpal govt. Health care? Education? Hiways? Utilities? Transit? Job ceation? Environment? Talk to your MLA/MPP.

Curmudgeons are aware of who does what. It's the crackpots who bitch and whine and smoke crack and pot who are clueless.

I agree if there is a security concern but it's clear that Conservatives are over stepping their boundaries into ethnic cleansing.

Now you are being absurd. Make your point, but don't be stupid about it!

Of course the issues you mention are important but so is Canadian tradition. I wonder how many Muslim women who think covering their faces is so all important care about the issues of veterans, the economy, etc. If the niquab is so unimportant then why the hell don't they take the damned thing off and let us see who they are?

Couldn't have said it better myself. hear hear!!!

many sent i am going to vote for my own interests. Well the
fact is there are more average guys out there than there are big
businesses and rich folks. When it comes to a ballot we all get
ONE and that equals things up. This is more like a civilized
revolution at it were. Its where the 70% majority want something
different than what the 30% minority wants its called democracy
Head scarfs, and customs are not even part of this we just want
to get rid of what we have because we want something else
I don't care for Trudeau and I won't be voting for him but I prefer
change than to what we have at present so I guess we will see
tomorrow how democracy worked. If the majority elect change
in two opposition parties those who have said Harper won a
government and that's all that matters will have to bow to the
majority Personally I hope they would form a coalition if need be
to Keep Harper from getting even a minority but there is no chance
of that at the moment

Please PLEASE will somebody tell me what exactly it is that Harper has done so badly? This question has been asked on this forum before and NO ONE - NOT ONE PERSON has provided an answer that makes any sense whatsoever except that they hate him. The hate is so visceral it boggles the mind.

The so-called "young people" I've spoken to don't have a clue as to why they don't like Harper - likely because he isn't a rock star, can't name any of their local candidates and don't know ANY of the parties policies. And they're going to vote? They have no idea what it is or who it is they're voting for. That's what's so scary. They believe all the 30 second crap they hear on radio or TV ads without actually doing any research.

And grumpy, most "average" (aka middle-class) Canadians are doing well. Could some be doing better? Definitely. It'd be nice if the price of oil would rise to about $50 then our economy would be doing better, but hell, blame it on Harper. That's the easy solution - blame somebody else. Well the fact is that whomever is elected, whether it be Trudeau, Mulcair or Harper is going to be stuck with world-wide instability and they're going to have to deal with it. I simply would prefer Harper because I think he's better able to handle it. I believe Trudeau's "economic policy" is dangerous and Mulcair's isn't much better.

Ask Cliffy or mentalfloss, they'll give you the rundown. Exaggerated to the point of arm-waving hysteria, to be sure, but certainly no more so than the Old Stock Canadian freaks who scream that Trudeau will turn Canada into an impoverished wasteland communist Islamic dictatorship.

Apparently, Harper has:

1. Destroyed the economy.
2. Torn up the Charter.
3. Brutalized religious minorities.
4. Robbed the suffering poor at gunpoint and given the money to rich cronies.
5. Spent billions on worthless military toys whilst ignoring Canada's real defense needs.
6. Thrown veterans out into the snow naked.
7. Fouled all of Canada with toxic sludge.
8. Rigged elections.
9. Slaughtered FNs.
10. What else? Worshipped the devil, I guess.

Ethnic cleansing  Well that was truly the goddam dumbest thing I've heard anyone utter in years. Which is saying a lot because reading too many of your other posts could cause a drop in the reader's IQ.

Anywho, congratulations, you just won this year's "Dumbest thing said in a public forum" award. I know there's still 2/12 months to go until year end but I'm pretty confident that bit of utter retardation will stand until then.

1- Not destroyed but has falsely propped it up with taxpayer funds
2- Not the whole thing, just a few clauses like the right to due process of law and right to privacy
3- Don't think he cares much about religion overall
4- Not at gunpoint, more like at pen tip
5- Definitely! He also wasted $1 trillion on illegal wars we should be involved in
6- I haven't seen any naked but I have seen lots living in poverty without the medical care they need
7- Not yet but give it time. We went from something like 2 million protected waterways to 159
8- Multiple cases of election fraud. Every one he's been involved in has had problems leading to criminal charges
9- I must have missed that news story
10- Not sure about worshipped but he's got Lucifer on speed dial...LOL!

He ticked of seniors the veterans, and people just plain don't like him.
In a democracy we need not worry about what he has done people are
angry. He has 30% who like him and 70% who don't. He changed the
way we comfortably do things. Today we will have a new government
and it won't include people like Jason Kenny and Mr Harper hopefully.
And I didn't change the subject I pointed out that doesn't matter anymore
the wind shifted.
There are stupid things he did like meeting the Ford Brothers opened
him to ridicule
Buying the front page of every paper paper in Canada. Interesting these
arrogant people demonstrated two things they have money to save their
government. Look how much money we have. In addition when they ran
out of fear they just buy an election. Yesterday I spoke to a lot of people
and they were actually offended by the in your face tactic. Personally did
nothing wrong but they helped a lot of people make up their mind to
vote A B C Anyone but Conservative
