Yep, there is a war on as to what constitutes the soul of the Republican Party and the definition of Conservatism. There were always deep flaws, contradictions and ulterior motives to the Tea Party's claim to such.
I would not bet against Trump's chutzpah and populist charism versus the cynicism, disingenuousness and deep pockets of the Koch Brothers. I haven't heard much of the Tea Party after Trump's emergence (which the Koch brothers fought fang and claw).

Trump's "base" curiously includes Evangelical Christians and for the life if me, I can't figure out why. Trump believes in Trump. He doesn't have a faithful bone in his body and his actions are all counter-Christian in nature.
Don't know why he has the support of veterans, either. His rich dad arranged for him to not be one.
