I'll accept furs if they still know how to trap, skin and cure.

I don't my elders knew but they didn't teach that in shop at Miller.

Where's my cheque?

Protesters say......

The camp's requests for the government include:
For Ministry of Social Services:
1) Release clear data on the number of children in care and the duration they have been in care to the public.
2) Review all permanent wards of social services.
3) Review all long-term wards of social services and update their files to see if they can return to their families.
4) Use in-home supervision in lieu of apprehension.
5) Go to Red Pheasant First Nation.
6) Place a moratorium on adoptions and the planned expansion of the foster care system.
7) Develop full report on each child in care that includes details on both their cultural and developmental needs.....

Etc.....

For the Ministries of Central Services and the Provincial Capital Commission:
1) Stop all efforts focused on removal of camp or a court order to do the same.
For all ministers:
1) Strike an inter ministerial round table and meet with campers in two weeks.

Who's list is this do you think? The aboriginal camp protesters? Or someone else? A puppet master?

That's not what Prescott and RochelleRichellRachel(her name escapes me) wanted.

All they want was to be heard and have discussions with MLAs.

They demanded nothing and ASKED to meet with MLAS to sit and talk about solutions.

Why do the good ones get used?

I'm disappointed.

Who's list is this do you think? The aboriginal camp protesters? Or someone else? A puppet master?

The real protest was usurped and yes it f-cking blatantly staged.

Sad. Very very sad.

Absolutely nothing in print to be found about the retired cop that was going to go and set up his own tent to protest in Wascana Part the inaction and selective enforcement by the RPS (Regina police Service) with respect to the 120+days of current campers in the Park but was warned off by the RPS, but this hit the news today with no comment from the RPS as of yet:

‘He was brandishing a knife:’ protestors describe police visit | 980 CJME

Protesters outside the legislature building said
they had some frightening moments over the
weekend after a man set up his own camp
and was carrying a knife.

While Regina police won’t remove that camp,
protesters said officers made a visit to the
camp over the weekend to speak to a man,
who camp members said was brandishing
a knife and trying to threaten them.

“He was brandishing a knife. He was also
doing Nazi salutes and trying to intimidate
the campers,” she told a reporter with 980
CJME. “We’ve been a peaceful protest
this whole time and there were children
very close to him when he had his knife
out.”

Pitawanakwat said there was no
apparent reason for the man to be
carrying a knife since all he had was
an empty tent and described his
actions as threatening and intimidating
to campers.

She noted police did appear to
confiscate the knife after speaking
with the man but they did not arrest
or forcibly remove him from the site.

(Huh?)

“They did not remove him, they spoke
with him and then he left of his own
accord,” she said, commenting that
there seemed to be more of an issue
with him having a dog off leash than
anything else.

(Huh?)

In response to those who maintain
the group is still breaking a law and
should be removed by police,
Pitawanakwat said bylaws like the
one they are breaking are a minor
offence and technically other
people break them all the time.

“There are a lot of laws being broken.
There are treaty laws being broken
as well and that’s not on our part.

There are charter rights being
broken if we’re removed,” she said.
While she agreed everyone is
technically obligated to follow laws,
she said charter rights to protest
and finding justice for our stolen
children are more significant than
a bylaw.

980 CJME has left several messages
with Regina Police Service and is
waiting for a response to clarify and
confirm the details and circumstances
of their involvement in this incident.

I have carried a knife for 45 years, but
I have brandished a knife never in that
same 45 years. Above, if this is real,

did this Jabroni carry a knife of did he
brandish a knife?

This supposedly happened on the
weekend, yet by Monday night the RPS
has no comment? If Somebody is
"brandishing" a weapon in public,
they don't get a walk...something
smells very bad with this story.

I'm listening to the radio, and people that where in Wascana park are calling in and here's what it sounds like from what I'm hearing. Some guy set up a tent in Wascana Park near the other Permanent Campers and put out a sign that stated, "Free Camping," and there is no mention of a knife. Sounds like the Permanent Campers felt threatened by this other new camper pitching his tent too close to them, so they (the Permanent Campers) called the police. Seven marked cars responded, and convinced this new camper to pack up and leave Wascana Park, leaving the Permanent Campers in place.

I'm very interested in what the Police have to say about this one, if they'll actually say anything at all. Elizabeth Popovich (Manager, Public Communication & Strategic Communications, Regina Police Service) says she will make a comment on this, but hasn't yet.

This is two and a half days later now since Saturday morning when this was suppose to have taken place now....

Last I looked Wascana had no serviced spots unless I were to plug in to a block heater outlet in an MLA's parking spot, count me out.

On that note, I thought they locked the public toilets up about 9 or 10 pm every night for security reasons also, as there's no reason to have them open (& many to have them locked up) at night. I wonder what 14 Tipi's worth of Campers do on the sanitation front for that 1/2 of the day (or night in this case)??? What does a Tipi sleep? 3-4 people each?

I hope they are locking the toilets. 11PM all parks are to be vacated.

School grounds too. I had issues with methed out gangbangers hanging out and playing basketball all night across the street at Albert School.

I bugged the cops and school board until they had security actually be security.

OK....this came out today. I know if someone was "brandishing" a knife or any other weapon in public, the police wouldn't confiscate the weapon and then pat them on the head....it would be a go to jail, do not pass go, & do not collect $200 moment, especially around this whole pet protesters group. There's more going on here, but here's a LINK: Police respond to man with knife intimidating protestors | 980 CJME

It's basically the same story as above but with a few sentences added:

Following requests by 980 CJME, Regina
police issued an emailed statement about
the incident on Tuesday to confirm officers
were called out on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
by someone identifying as a member of
the protest camp.

Police confiscated a knife after speaking
with the 56-year-old man but they did
not arrest or forcibly remove him from
the site.

Officers advised the man he was free
to remain in the park but any alleged
threats will be investigated.

“Officers took the knife; the male
voluntarily packed up his belongings
and left without further incident,” the
police wrote in an email.

I'd like to hear the rest of this story. Dude was committed enough to go pitch his tent and post his "Free Camping" sign, but then just walked away? Does this sound like it just doesn't add up? What's missing? The retired cop was threatened, but this guy wasn't and just walked away? If this guy had a weapon displayed or used in a threatening manner, he'd be incarcerated, & he wasn't locked up. This has a rotten smell to it.....

I hope they are locking the toilets. 11PM all parks are to be vacated.

Wascana Center hours are 9am-10pm according to something I found online. I'm assuming that would be when the toilets are locked up for the night also before the staff leaves for the night, etc...

Here's a thought. if there's 14 Tipi's so far, and what? 3-4 Campers per tent, that's at least forty Campers I'm guessing. Now we live in weird times where many people can't leave a burning building without recording video of it on their phones and posting it on YouTube. Now if the following actually happened: ‘He was brandishing a knife:’ protestors describe police visit | 980 CJME

“He was brandishing a knife. He

If you have a pack of activist attention whores Camping in Wascana park, and what they claimed actually happened, don't you think there would be at least 25 different videos of this transpiring? This would be huge propagandist imagery that the Campers would get total mileage out of with our 24hr/day news cycle, or at least on YouTube. Anybody seen any video of this?

Link: Protest camp takes legal action against province, police | 980 CJME

The Justice for Our Stolen Children
camp across from the Saskatchewan
Legislature announced Monday it’s
taking legal action on behalf of the
protesters arrested last month.

The Government of Saskatchewan,
Provincial Capital Commission and
the Regina Police Service are listed
as the respondents in the court
document.

On June 18, Regina
police dismantled the camp
and arrested six protesters.
They were all shortly released
and never charged. The camp
was resurrected again three
days later....

Dan LeBlanc, the camp’s
lawyer, said the court
application is being made
on the protesters’
constitutional right to
“express themselves”
by camping in Wascana
Park.

“The process of staying
overnight and the process
of having a sacred fire is
part of the way in which
these individuals are
expressing themselves,”
he explained.

“When the government
puts limits on that, it has
to justify it constitutionally.”

Ugh....this has been waffled from the beginning. I'm wondering how long until some idiot is "expressing himself" in my garage uninvited at 3AM and I'll be having legal action brought against me for showing him the door with assistance. "But....but my Uncles-Cousins -Brothers-Dogs-Sparing-Partner traditionally broke into garages in this general area, and Residential Schools!!" Oh for Christ's Sake....
