"Simon & Garfunkel are coming to Halifax in May for two nights y'know?"

I always liked this duo, clearly an exception to the 70's 80's musical morass. (with the Carpenters and ABBA being exceptions).

However, living in Winnipeg, I don't think I will be able to attend the concert.

Yeah I thought about seeing Simon and G. but the wife isn't into them much and we've already got plans to head to Toronto around that time.

I wouldn't mind seeing them though.... someday.

I remember seeing a huge performance they did years ago that was shown on PBS, and it was very impressive.

Simon and Garfunkel are in Edmonton soon. Thought about going but couldn't justify the $220 for me and the missus to sit way in the back and listen to the sound reverbrate around that cavern called Rexall Place. Got tickets to Yuk Yuk's instead.

I spent far less than $200.00 for a ticket to enjoy Opera Hamilton (12 seasons, while I lived there), Toronto Operetta Theatre, Toronto Symphony and on many New Years Eve, in various locations "A Tribute To Vienna".

I went home from those performances with my heating intact, whistling or doodling the melodies I had enjoyed.

No rock concert attendee can say that without being awfully careless with the truth.

I'll assume you meant hearing ;-), and tell you that the concerts I've gone to tend to not be loud. But, I don't go to stadium concerts. I go to small venue shows where they don't feel the need to blast the speakers. One of my faves was Matt Costa opening for Bedouin Soundclash. The music was priority over volume.

The Tea Party with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra & Toronto Tabla Ensemble for starters, in fact any Live performance of The Tea Party.... also the lead singer, Jeff Martin who performed acoustic here in Halifax for two nights which the wife and I saw on St. Patty's day.

In fact, The Tea Party were a big factor in my wife and I meeting and then getting married, as we met on their online forums, which I eventually took over. I own all their albums, know every song, and never saw a live performance or such depth in that type of music in any other band to date.... rock or not.

Average ticket costs range between $30-50 each. :p

Did those you mentioned above directly or indirectly change aspects of your life such as the above?

*done peeing as far as he can* ;-)

DurkaDurka, my dictionary defines MUSIC as: 'the art of combining tones into a composition having structure and continuity; vocal or instrumental sounds having rythm, melody and harmony; an agreeable sound'.

There is no evidence of any of that since the drug addicted Rolling Stones infected/infested the world.
Why do you let what other people enjoy listening to bother you? Does everyone else snivel about what you listen to?

Anyway, tv musicals aren't coming back. They are back.

Lotsa stuff about musicals:
