Can't read the top one. Does it say they were heroes and state or imply that it would have been better if they had won?

The bottom one just states a fact.

Actually it is a pretty brutal statement... let me get it for you.

What about the flags... should I pull them out on my next run down Battle Road?

Not sure, but it's hard for me to object to removing statues of enemies of the United States of America from American cities.

I'd favor removing statues of Rall, Cornwallis, Santa Ana, Hindenburg, Rommel, Yamamoto, Giap, Hussein, and bin Laden from American cities, too.

Does that include Lenin in Seattle ?

And then I guess your going to support removal of any Injun statue across the US ?

Here you are...

Grave of British Soldiers

They came three thousand miles and died,
to keep the past upon its throne:
Unheard, beyond the ocean tide,
their English Mother made her moan.

I like it! Let's keep the Lee statues, and just change the inscription:

Robert E. Lee
Traitor to Country and Corps
Who led thousands of his men to slaughter
For the cause of human slavery

It's to both our benefits. I'll settle for a small cut, say 99.75%?

I reluctantly accept your proposal.

In my opinion, 'left' should be simply the submission to authority while 'right' should be synonymous with liberty.

Fukk the vertical/horizontal dichotomy which separates those concepts into some economic and social paradigm because both are intertwined and you run into contradictions.

A Nazi, fascist, communist and even a 'liberal' all require some level of authority and social order to grant their desires, so they are all on the left to varying degrees.

Libertarians, capitalists and anarchists are the antithesis of order and those are the ones that desire natural autonomy, so they should be on the right.

Libertarians require some level of authority too, so they should be on the left according to this reconfiguring. I think it's a bit wonky, because I'm against all those things you listed, so does that make me a centrist? Shit... I think I might be.

If the true enemy is the establishment, that's a division of class.

Does that include Lenin in Seattle ?

Does Lenin count as an enemy of the US? The US did contribute arms to the monarchist side during the Russian civil war, and of course he was a filthy commie, so that makes him a spiritual enemy if anything.

There's talk of removing a Confederate monument in a cemetery in Seattle, but it's on private property and so the city can't do much about it. I've seen that Lenin statue and I'm not sure if it's on private land or not. It would be ironic if that's what saved it.

Why Was This 'Crowd Hire' Company Recruiting $25 An Hour 'Political Activists' In Charlotte Last Week?

Now, the discovery of a craigslist ad posted last Monday, almost a full week before the Charlottesville protests, is raising new questions over whether paid protesters were sourced by a Los Angeles based "public relations firm specializing in innovative events" to serve as agitators in counterprotests.

The ad was posted by a company called "Crowds on Demand" and offered $25 per hour to "actors and photographers" to participate in events in the "Charlotte, NC area." While the ad didn't explicitly define a role to be filled by its crowd of "actors and photographers" it did ask applicants to comment on whether they were "ok with participating in peaceful protests." Here is the text from the ad:
