If I liked lying, vindictive and deranged narcissist Presidents with a million legal problems who were hell bent on ruining the global economy, couldn't keep good staff from quitting and the rest from going to prison, and spent half of their time posting divisive misspelled tweets, I might find the humour in it too.
I would disagree that Pence would be better. The man is a religious fruit loop, fanatic and wants to make America a theocracy. No, they need to get rid of both those psychopaths.

I expect Trump will be a two term President. And the world will be a much different place at the end of his Presidency. Trump would not be there unless there was a imminent and on going collapse of the World Order of the last 70 years.
The global free movement of capital, commodities, services, people, and, domestic institution of laissez-faire, unregulated, privatized, financialized, regressively taxed, deindustrialized economies has produced an untenable situation of economic dissolution and wealth polarization.
Pence is a very conventional NeoCon. Like most of the political establishment he has no idea what is going on with the world wide (and especially in the West) rise of nationalist and populist movements. He is a spawn of the Pax Americana, the American Empire, that has been disintegrating for decades.
For all of Trump's apparent instability there is method behind the madness. You can see it in his consistent appointments to reinstitute a sustainable moral coherence to the courts; away from the prevailing fragmenting ethos of moral relativism, radical individualism and, atheistic humanism. He is the only major Western politician with the courage to stand up the pseudo science and sham cult of AGW and its catastrophic 'solutions'.
Trump is an iconoclast.. but their are many idols and icons of the New Age, economically and culturally, that are leading us to ruin and need to be dismantled.
Stand back! Take a look at Trump in the context of our times. He's a pathfinder out of the West's morass and death spiral.
