The GOP is really a misnomer at this point. They have been taken over by extremists.

The GOP has become the greatest threat to American democracy since the Civil War

I"m sure that there are lots of good, fair Republicans who believe in democracy but they have sold their souls to gain and hold power. What disturbs me more is that a sizeable portion of their voter base is willing to put their own narrow interests ahead of democracy and the integrity of their republic.

Look, I don't know about the rest of you Boomers, Gen X, or Millennials but I agree with Trumpy The United States is the most progressive country in the USA. We can't compare ourselves with the rest of the developed world because most of them have governments run with sanity and compassion and it isn't fair to expect Trump, the GOP and the Oligarchs to embrace decency when Greed, Fear and Complacency work so well to control the deplorables and we can always add in the Fear of God instilled in their flocks by evangelicals who want a Theocracy. This is the time of year when we can hope for a visit from Sanity Clause! :) Leave out some cookies every night in case the Kookies come for a visit. All Hail Donnie - The Kookie Monster!
I know this is weird but I haven't believed in Sanity Clause since I was a small child.

Trump is right in 1 respect, letting brush build up is asking for trouble. Send all the refugees into the Federal lands in a camp style (room and board as wages) and have them do the cleanup as machines are too 'invasive' but some foot traffic for 1 year.
To not do it now that he has said it was the cause would make them guilty when a wildfire on Federal land kills people or overkills the local critters.

Perhaps metal roofing and siding in forested areas would stop the embers alone taking out whole neighborhoods when the roofing material is asphalt and vinyl siding.
I tend to like fine clay as it can be mixed with water and sprayed and the clay stays behind when the water evaporates. Sprayed on lawns it might stop some of the fires embers start. Metal studs are available so a home can be made fire proof by eliminating what are normal building standards in most of the country. Dig into the hills and you could stay home and survive quite nicely.

It would be lovely to know what your opinion is on THE TOPICS as opposed to your opinion on other posters . :) :) :) :) :)

My contempt of SOME other posters should be your first clue to my opinion of the topics. Actually there are very few REAL topics. Half a dozen posters just provide a deluge of incessant whining about banality. Most salient post on here today is post #393, Trump at 600 plus, read it.

Well, you certainly provide a metric buttload of banality.

You are right about the low number of original posters. However, they do make things easy for the rest of us. And there is always the fact that if you don't enjoy some of the topics you don't have to comment on any of them.

..another option is to post a topic that would be interesting to the said poster.
Don't think that is the issue though.
Let's not forget that said poster can put whichever posters that cause him so much grief/ angst on ignore.
