The really bizarre part of all this is that there are tens of millions of gullible rubes who consistantly believe all of the nonsense that Trump spills out daily. This does not bode well for the future of democracy.

It makes us wonder if maybe we should introduce a technocratic element to our democracy, especially in education. For example, maybe require the Minister of Education to actually have a degree in education or equivalent. Even if not a sitting MP, doesn't matter: you don't have the appropriate qualifications, you can't be a Minister of Education. Same principle for a Minister for the Environment, etc.
