It's clear Trump has always placed personal vendettas over the best interest of the American people.
absolutely. His angst & OBSESSION over Obama is astounding , and he makes it "personal". Mind you he takes a lot of things that he should not......"personally". He is unable to be objective ,or fair and thus is NOT FIT FOR THE JOB. But qualifications don't factor in for the job of POTUS.

Letter with ricin poison sent to White House may have come from Canada: RCMP

The RCMP said Saturday it is working with the FBI after federal U.S. officials intercepted an envelope addressed to the White House that contained the poison ricin.

"The RCMP can confirm that it has received a request for assistance from the FBI in connection with a suspicious letter sent to the White House," spokesperson Dan Brien told CBC News in an email.

"Initial information from the investigation suggests that the letter originated in Canada," said Brien. He said he could not offer more details at this time.

The letter was intercepted at a government facility that screens mail addressed to the White House and U.S. President Donald Trump, an official told The Associated Press. A preliminary investigation indicated it tested positive for ricin, a poison found naturally in castor beans, the official said.

BREAKING: Pascale Cecile Veronique Ferrier Identified As Suspect In Poison Letter Sent To Trump

source: Texas Department of Corrections

RCMP officers searched a condo in Saint-Hubert on Montreal's South Shore on Monday in connection with a letter that was mailed to the White House and tested positive for the poison ricin. Law enforcement cordoned off a lengthy stretch of a street lined by condominium buildings in the suburban municipality. Local police and ambulance services were also at the scene.

Charles Poirier, spokesperson for the Quebec division of the RCMP, said a team of officers with expertise in handling chemicals and explosives led the search. Neighbouring residences in the building were evacuated.

"The RCMP is assisting the FBI in this investigation," he said.

Poirier said there is a link between a woman suspected of sending the ricin-laced envelope to the White House and the residence being searched and several addresses in Texas.

The woman suspected of sending the envelope has been identified as Pascale Ferrier, according to U.S. court records provided to CBC News. She was arrested over the weekend at the Peace Bridge border crossing between Fort Erie, Ont., and Buffalo, N.Y.

Ferrier was supposed to appear in court Monday, but her appearance has been delayed until Tuesday afternoon, according to a spokesperson for the United States Attorney's Office.

Ferrier had been living in the United States last year and was arrested in Texas in March 2019 for using a fake driver's licence, court records show. She pleaded not guilty, and the charge was eventually dismissed because it was her first offence. She spent 20 days in jail.

Have to wonder about her "mental health"...

Unless she is part of some criminal organization........... this behavior is pretty crazy. How did she get a hold of the ricin ?? What is her citizenship ?? Lots of questions......Not enough answers .......yet.

Trump Could Be Investigated for Tax Fraud, D.A. Says for First Time

The Manhattan district attorney’s office, which has been locked in a yearlong legal battle with President Trump over obtaining his tax returns, suggested for the first time in a court filing on Monday that it had grounds to investigate him and his businesses for tax fraud.

The filing by the office of the district attorney, Cyrus R. Vance Jr., offered rare insight into the office’s investigation of the president and his business dealings, which began more than two years ago.

Mr. Vance, a Democrat, has never revealed the scope of his office’s criminal inquiry, citing grand jury secrecy. The investigation has been stalled by the fight over a subpoena that the office issued in August 2019 for eight years of the president’s tax returns.

Lawyers for Mr. Trump have said the subpoena should be blocked, calling it “wildly overbroad” and politically motivated. Mr. Vance responded to that argument in a carefully worded new filing that did not directly accuse Mr. Trump or any of his businesses or associates of wrongdoing and took pains to avoid disclosing details about the inquiry.

However, prosecutors listed news reports and public testimony that alleged misconduct by Mr. Trump and his businesses. The reports, prosecutors wrote, would justify a grand jury inquiry into a range of possible crimes, including tax and insurance fraud and falsification of business records. It was the first time the office had suggested tax fraud might be among the possible areas of investigation.

"could be". ( even "should be)......are just that. Trump is so used to being investigated , it is part of his life style. His best "friends" are his "creative" lawyers.

DOJ blames Democrats' treatment of Barr in refusing to send senior officials to House hearings

The Justice Department is refusing to send its senior officials to testify before Congress these next two weeks, blaming the Democrats' treatment of Attorney General William Barr during a July hearing.

In a letter to the House Judiciary Committee dated Monday declining to make witnesses available, the Justice Department accused Democratic committee members of "scolding and insulting the Attorney General" during a July 28 hearing, repeatedly interrupting him, and refusing to let him answer questions.

The department accused members of instead using "their allotted time to air grievances" rather than trying to obtain information from Barr.

"We very much regret that the committee did not elect to engage in a meaningful, good-faith effort to obtain information and views from the Attorney General while he was present and prepared to testify," Stephen Boyd, the assistant attorney general for legislative affairs, wrote in the letter to Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler.

"Having squandered its opportunity to conduct a meaningful oversight hearing with the Attorney General, it remains unclear how further public spectacles with other Department officials would now -- a mere 14 legislative days since the Attorney General's hearing -- advance the Committee's legitimate oversight efforts."

Boyd also argued that the hearing did "preciously little to advance any legitimate interest."

Nadler on Tuesday accused Barr of "trying to pick a fight" with his committee to try and divert from President Donald Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

"41 days before the election, Mr. Barr is trying to pick a fight with the Committee in an attempt to change the subject from the President's disastrous handling of the pandemic, and set a new standard for sheer arrogance and open contempt of Congress. We will plan accordingly," the New York Democrat wrote on Twitter.

A Judiciary subcommittee had invited Eric Deiband, assistant attorney general for civil rights, to testify Thursday during a hearing on "current policies and actions of the Civil Rights Division."

Director of the Bureau of Prisons Michael Carvajal and Director of the US Marshals Service Donald Washington were asked to appear before another Judiciary subcommittee for an oversight hearing in October on their agencies.

"Although the Department is not in a position to provide witnesses for these hearings at this time, should the Committee nonetheless continue to have particular interest in obtaining information from the Department, and should the Committee commit to doing so in an appropriate and productive manner, the Department would be happy to work with you regarding the scheduling of additional oversight hearings in the future," Boyd wrote.

Travel schedule be damned Eric:

Eric Trump must testify in a New York investigation into his family’s business practices before the November presidential election, a judge ruled Wednesday, rejecting his lawyers’ claims that his “extreme travel schedule” on the campaign trail warranted a delay.

“To be clear, no entity or individual is allowed to dictate how or when our investigation will proceed or set the parameters of a lawful investigation,” James said. “The court’s order today makes clear that no one is above the law, not even an organization or an individual with the name Trump.”
