The Outrage At Michelle Wolf

Sitting at a table pretty far from the stage at the annual White House Correspondents Association dinner on Saturday night, I watched comedian Michelle Wolf deliver a brilliant, well-timed roast of President Donald Trump, those who work for him and the media establishment that covers him.

The performance has everyone talking, and many are expressing outrage that she “went too far” ― outrage that seems phony and forced. Some journalists who cover the White House and, unsurprisingly, many conservatives and Trump supporters are up in arms about Wolf’s barbs.

In both cases, the reactions are troublingly hypocritical.

The response of many Washington journalists is a particularly bad sign. It shows us some prominent sectors of the fourth estate are acquiescing to the Trump administration ― normalizing it ― rather than taking up the challenge of dealing with an authoritarian presidency.

Frankly, the reactions reek of an attempt to protect access by brown-nosing members of the administration ― but at the cost of legitimizing a president and an administration that has attacked the free press and called just about everyone in it a purveyor of “fake news.”

An authoritarian presidency.  F*cking priceless. Talk about full leftard, although that was funnier than anything Wolf said. And speaking of the "talent", it must have been slim pickings because Wolf is about as funny as an impacted hemorrhoid.

What has that got to do with the thread?

That's funnier than anything that wombat said while she ruined the party forever...
;)
Speaking of ruining things forever...now there is a true leftist trait.

I love the way these racists call trump a racist, but claim things like record black employment are a bad thing. It just shows you what these nazi communist projectionists are all about

It's HITLERY and the left behind that wants to take away the second amendment with a rigged election. (AND YOU LOST A GAME WHERE YOU WERE CHEATING!!! and you are still whining!!!)
:)
How authoritarian can you NAZI communist fascist totalitarian CRIMINALS get?

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was a failure last year, but this year was an embarrassment to everyone associated with it. The filthy “comedian” totally bombed (couldn’t even deliver her lines-much like the Seth Meyers weak performance). Put Dinner to rest, or start over!

If you're going to insult Sarah Sanders' appearance, you should do it right. Like this:

Yes he complained too. Most journalists thought what she said was in poor taste and also played right into Trump's hand as proven correct by the above tweet.

You surveyed all the journalists in the U.S. (or North America)? That being the only way I can think of that you could say "most." Well, except for being somebody who makes up "facts" to support his opinions.

Like Cliffy.

By the way, not a one of you knows jack about how the WHC Dinner is run, so all you're doing here is displaying your ignorance and blind hatred or adoration for the head of a country that, let us not forget, is not your country.

It,s not your country anymore either. It,s been sold out from under you while you continue to conduct an old election.

I was getting my 'facts' from an article I read from that ultra-right-wing bastion called npr.org. I will see if I can find the article again. They were interviewing and collecting opinions from reporters from the other right wing propaganda rags such as the Washington Post and the New York Times.

Like Cliffy.

Comparing me to Cliffy is a low blow. Not sure I can forgive you for that one.

That being said, perhaps 'most' was not warranted as I am sure the NPR article did not interview all the journalists only some. Some would have been more appropriate.

By the way, not a one of you knows jack about how the WHC Dinner is run, so all you're doing here is displaying your ignorance and blind hatred or adoration for the head of a country that, let us not forget, is not your country.

And I don't believe I have ever said I liked Trump. I know I have said I disliked Hillary. Perhaps you assumed if one disliked one that one must like the other. An incorrect assumption.

Here is the article I read. It was linked to from another board.

A Christian pastor just broke the internet with a scathing open letter to Huckabee Sanders and Trump

“You see, I’m a Christian and I’ve heard you claim that you’re a Christian too—and watching you work recently, it got me thinking:”
“How does she do it?”
“What I mean is, how do you reconcile your supposed faith in Jesus of Nazareth, with your current position as a mouthpiece for this morally malignant President?,” the evangelical preacher begins his epistle to DC.

And you still don’t know why Donald Trump is President and Hillary is still crying .

It’s only his supporters who keep bringing her up. She’s done, time to move on. Her supporters accepted that and stopped talking about her some time ago.

As for the subject of the thread I don’t get why people are so freaked out. Obama made quite a few self deprecating jokes when he attended these events. Bush was roasted in person by Stephen Colbert and didn’t seem to mind. He just went with it. I guess Trump and his supporters just don’t have a sense of humour. Or not a very good one anyway.
