He's the President of the United States. He's allowed to give advice to people who report to him. There's nothing in these leaked reports (of pressuring Comey to drop the Flynn investigation) that indicate the context or rationale for Trump's 'advice'. This did not involve an order to end the investigation as Nixon did prior to the his 'Saturday Night Massacre'. That was given to an independent Special Prosecuter and not a member of the Executive Administration as was Comey.

It could be Trump felt the entire thing amounted to a political witchhunt, and had devolved into mob justice by a rampant Liberal media and political establishment. Those are perfectly legitimate concerns. He would be acting in the best interests of the country, not in the 'obstruction' of justice, since there was absolutely NO crime perpetrated by any member of his campaign or administration to 'cover up'.

Frankly the Dems and press have gone off the deep end with this; a pack of headhunters with a noose. They've lost their objectivity and credibility in their zeal to foment a putsch against Trump and in support of the failed ideological paradigm of the last 50 years. But that has collapsed and left them without a franchise and reeling in frustration.

I think this is the real story. I could care less what Trump's doing right now, I'm far more interested in watching the mainstream media and Dems self-destruct and completely decimate their objectivity and credibility. It's very entertaining, but unfortunately also very damaging and dangerous to a country and democracy.

Putin put him in, now Putin wants him out

Perhaps the intel was meant to be leaked to Russia and that would make Trump Mossad's puppet instead.

Israel was warned not to give intel to Trump that could be leaked to Russia - Business Insider
(in part)
Israel reportedly was the source of the highly classified intelligence President Donald Trump disclosed to Russian diplomats last week. It was also said to have been warned months ago by US intelligence officials not to share classified information with Trump, for fear it might be leaked to Russia.
"Donald Trump's upcoming inauguration as the next president of the United States is causing Israeli intelligence officials to lose sleep as well," Ronen Bergman reported for the Israeli news outlet Ynetnews on January 12.
"Discussions held in closed forums recently raised fears of a leakage of Israeli intelligence top-classified information, clandestine modus operandi, and sources, which have been exposed to the American intelligence community over the past 15 years, to Russia — and from there to Iran," the report said.
According to The Washington Post, that has played out almost exactly — though it is unclear whether the Russians have relayed that intelligence to Iran.
The Post reported Monday night that Trump's disclosures to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak "jeopardized a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State" and "had been provided by a US partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the US government."
BuzzFeed News got confirmation on Tuesday from two Israeli officials that the shared intelligence was about an ISIS plot to smuggle laptop bombs on airplanes.
US officials briefed their Israeli counterparts before Trump's inauguration about their belief that Russian President Vladimir Putin had "leverages of pressure" over Trump, according to Bergman. Trump's meeting with Lavrov and Kislyak last week was reportedly requested by Putin.

Gee, I wonder what the Republicans and the Alt-right press would have done if Obama had given secret information to the Russians, tried to get the FBI director to end an investigation into him, then fired him for not doing so. If we compare it to Benghazi, which didn't even involve a president, but involved an ex-secretary of state, I think we can see. I mean, FOX news alone probably devoted about two thousand hours to Benghazi, and what were there, about seventeen congressional investigations into it (all finding nothing)?

Ask the Pollards.
The same ones in the pic when the OBL hunt was on would have known what was going on. Killary was the point man on that one. The ability to sacrifice some low level Americans so the global agenda gets it's way is business as usual for her and her crowd in the photo.

Notice try but the Republicans are beginning to join in, too. Some of them believe in Democracy, believe in their Republic, it's institutions and the rule of law. A rogue President, "stirring up the sh1t " for the sake of anarchic change will only leave a spent, broken United States behind him. No doubt, you think that's a good outcome.

That was exactly what he campaigned on.... he said he was going to give America back to the people. So he fired puppet master number one at the FBI....

I'm living rent free in your head Angstrom..

:laughing3:

Yes, im constantly laughing about you in there :)

What i find most entertaining is that millions of people who have displayed hatred and distrust for the FBI their whole lives have all flip floped in one day and are now defending and active shills for the FBI :laughing3:

You cant buy entertainment like that. Priceless:)

I think that may have been the one (biggest) mistake he's made since taking office. It sort of ranks up there with f**king around with income tax thinking you'll get away with it.

Firing the person in charge of a legal investigation that revolves around you is probably a bad move. Trump still doesn't seem to have any understanding of what his role is supposed to be, or what he can legally do. Some day, he'll learn, perhaps.

It is bringing your drunk relative to a party where you need to impress people for work, but 24 hours a day, and your co-workers are the entire world, and some of them have nukes.
It is like expecting a cardboard cutout of a pro wrestler to perform open-heart surgery.
It is like watching a golden retriever try to disable a bomb. The dog can’t determine which is the red button and which is the green button. It can’t see color. It’s a dog, for Pete’s sake. What did you expect?
It is like leaving a horse unsupervised in a room with cake, only the cake is also your child.
It is the vague worry I feel in the back of my mind all the time about the Yellowstone Caldera, but it is running the country.
The president is not a child. Children can improve. Children speak with inside voices. Children ask for help when there are things they cannot reach.
He’s a human Failure to Read the User’s Manual.
He’s a cartoon character. He only looks real on TV. When real things are put into his hands he drops them, and people get hurt.

BREAKING: COMEY CAUGHT COMMITTING PERJURY TO CONGRESS

Former FBI Director James Comey said he was never told to stop an investigation due of political reasons during testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 3, 2017, which contradicts his new claim that Trump pressured him to stop the Flynn investigation in February.

Comey now claims President Trump asked him to to shut down the federal investigation into former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, in an Oval Office meeting in February, according to a memo Mr. Comey says he wrote after the meeting.

The New York Times claims this February memo is the “smoking gun,” but in fact it contradicts Comey’s sworn testimony on May 3.
This story is developing.

Comey had a legal obligation to come forward to the Department of Justice if he thought there was any attempt to obstruct justice. He may have actually broken the law by not doing so.

18 U.S. Code § 4

Whoever, having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony cognizable by a court of the United States, conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some judge or other person in civil or military authority under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

that's because it's all part of the same conspiracy.
It's the squirrels. I'm not sure what they're after this time, but you can't trust the sneaky bastards!

Serious question. Of the last dozen or so Canadian PMs, how many come from modest socioeconomic backgrounds? Obviously not Trudeau, but even though I always know who the PM is, I really don't know much about their backgrounds.

For us, Reagan, Clinton, and Obama were certainly no better than middle class growing up.

Carter was pretty well off. Peanut farmer though he may have been, it was a pretty damn big farm.

Big Bush, Li'l Bush, and Trump were rich from the git-go.

Harper was more or less middle class.
Paul Martin was/is extremely wealthy, family owns a seagoing shipping line
Chretien was a career politician, from working class family
Kim Campbell was a university professor, lawyer daughter of a lawyer
Mulroney was born to a middle class family, father was an electrican.
Turner's father was a journalist who immigrated from England
