The electors haven't voted yet, so they wouldn't have to change their votes.

Different round of voting. The state election votes are in and tabulated.
29 states have laws that would jail and replace faithless electors. I actually find it quite surprising that the number is so low. It basically removes the reason to have any campaign or nation-wide voting if 10 or 20 people can go against the majority will of their state and determine the presidency.

News takes time to settle in and Trump is going to backtrack on everything he promised to stop the backlash.
To be honest, I don't recall this as one of his promises. I heard some Republicans say it but I don't recall him personally doing it. And he certainly was a skilled politician in telling enough people what they wanted to hear to get himself elected. I don't think he really cares about the backlash.
If anything with all these mass protests, he's probably gained a couple more.

The rioters who are out there not are not holding posters that say "We won --- Yay!". And based upon the few pixies I have heard interviewed, I would not classify them as Trumpkins. But if your belief that these are celebrations gets you to sleep at night, I don't want to interrupt your beauty sleep.
