Disagree with you fully. I put holes in my ears cause i like earrings. I wasn't born with them. I have tattoo's all over my body. Love em. Wasn't born with them. I cut my hair cause I like short hair. I modify all kinds of body parts. What's the difference if I split my tongue, pierce my skin or dress like a man? how is any of that a severe mental illness? How is my wanting to be a woman or a man anyone else's business if I can perform my job? If my dressing like a man or a woman keeps you from doing your job, then the fault is with you.

So is having your penis split and sewn down into labia. I can't quite remember at what stage a male toddler / child's testicles descend into the scrotum, but it's done at the instigation of dna. It's why men have nipples. If the dna says the testicles stay up? Until the dna states whether the sex organs stay in the body and become the ovaries if the dna says to descend they become testicles. That's how pretty interesting, eh? flood of the wrong hormones at the wrong time and you've got yourself someone who feels they were born into the wrong body. If our society accepted them the way other cultures have in the past, they'd not have the mental illness issues that they do because they are societally caused. If we accepted people for who they are rather then what we expect them to be there wouldn't be as many mental health issues as there are.
There are more then YX or XX. We're still learning so much about dna and it's roll in the body and brain that to stand by only 2 variants is ignorant.

And when someone gets full GRS, they are changing their body cosmetically to match what they really are.
Until they get the GRS, they are mismatched.
As for the servicemen/women... likely still serving, but they look at their job as first and foremost, other things have to come second. Or if they aren't serving, probably trying to get fixed what nature screwed up.
It's a weird thought pattern to think that "those" people don't take their job as seriously as those who're having an affair on their spouse or are visiting prostitutes, or who work out hard everyday or any other individual who has a brain in their head too.
Why would anyone thinks someone's sexual orientation / preference IS going to negatively impact how they do the job they've sought after and been trained successfully for?
