The Federal Government of Canada with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau bought the pipeline and route that will carry Alberta oil to the west coast. Don't see how that is ignoring Western Canada. There are plenty of other examples.

Treudeau will accept the white helmet mercinaries in Canada, these scum bags have actually been suspected of murdering children in staged rescue features. This move by the Canadian government does not bode well for this countrys future. It,s disgusting that these international criminals should be relocated to Canada instead of being hung in Syria.

Has construction started ? I see yesterday was the day the feds had set for selling the dinosaur, but funny that day has past and we are still holding the bag

Strange, Fort St John pulls something out of the ground? I guess it must be Coca Cola.
Amazing eh ?

Really?? You consider Trudeau incompetantly allowing one local mayor to derail a federally approved multi-billion dollar resource project evidence of support? He bought the damned thing because he had to, due to his lack of support and action for the project while trying to appease both sides.

Notley slams Burnaby mayor who won't pay to protect pipeline

Corrigan is unrepentant. “We’re not paying for the additional policing costs that are being accumulated as a result of the protests at the Trans Mountain project,” he told the Globe and Mail.

Burnaby also refused to pay about $800,000 to cover policing of protests in 2014. The payment is still in dispute.

Corrigan seems to feel that since Ottawa approved the project, and he doesn’t like the project, Ottawa should pay to protect the project.

Maybe Trudeau should have obliged and showed some actual leadership and authority. Maybe we all wouldn't be on the hook for 9+ billion dollars...if the thing even gets built at all. I'm still very skeptical of Trudeau's motives for taking ownership over the pipeline in the first place. A lot easier to to control the progress of a politically contentious project when you own it. How many shovels have hit the ground since he stroked the 5 billion dollar cheque to KM for the down payment?

Ottawa fails to secure new buyer for Trans Mountain pipeline by deadline

Trudeau seems to be slow-playing progress on this project. Wonder why? Almost like there's a federal election on the horizon or something. Only a fool would trust a fool.

I'm doubtful that the plan ever was, or ever will be completion of the project and sale back to a private sector buyer. Trudeau is going to piss off one side or the other...better to just stall the project out indefinitely. It's only taxpayer money after all, why not waste billions to try and play both sides. Sounds like Trudeau's style.

I agree.

Trudeau’s carbon tax announcement ‘disrespectful’

With provincial and territorial ministers gathered for a day of climate-change talks in Montreal, the prime minister kicked off a House of Commons debate on the Paris climate change accord with unexpected news: Ottawa will set – and enforce, if necessary – a minimum price for carbon pollution.

Wall – a longtime opponent of pricing carbon – did not pull his punches. “The level of disrespect shown by the prime minister and his government today is stunning,” he said, accusing Trudeau of reneging on his promises to collaborate with the provinces.

Trudeau’s pre-emptive announcement landed like a grenade in the midst of the environment ministers’ meeting in Montreal, where federal minister Catherine McKenna was supposed to be hashing out an agreement on carbon pricing with her provincial counterparts.

“The air was sucked out of the room,” Yukon’s Currie Dixon said of Trudeau’s announcement, calling it an odd way to build collaborative policy.

” Moe later echoed his boss’s words, suggesting Trudeau’s “betrayal” could have lingering effects.

“It’s not a good day for federal-provincial relations,” he said.

Nova Scotia’s Margaret Miller said her province feels let down and surprised, saying it is already on track to make deep emissions cuts and doesn’t understand Ottawa’s move.

Trudeau showing his complete contempt and total disrespect for the premiers, and a gross betrayal of trust between Trudeau the provinces. What an arrogant fool.

You have no idea how we feel about 'the East' do you? We send you our worst yet you still come up with a local boy who out does him. Perhaps some glue on his lips instead of his eyebrows is his ticket to looking like a manly man.
