Interesting, but it has dickall to do with Canadian spending on A&E.
Who do you think paid for the documentary? If new productions aren't just as valid then it is a waste of money and deception for the citizens. Sooner or later that has to end or we go further downhill.

The context you posted it first had nothing to do with the topic of the thread. You were dredging up 9/11. There are loads of other docs about history you could have posted to comment on the History channel.
But anyway, the CBC should make its own money or at least earn grant money, not sponge off taxpayers.

Why, it is a public service and making money is not part of the mandate. The sponsors that donate to to making documentaries always have an agenda and the conclusion id determined beforehand. If you didn't like the vid of 9/11 as it bucks the stupid official version then one about the formation of ISIS would be a lot worse as it would show how corrupt the system in North America is. Maybe we should just let Trump fix it and then fall in line as gutless followers.

Walnut why would a good little Jew like you not support Don? Seems like a good move for North America.

Well one day the ( provincial g-man) likker inspector showed up at the bar, and says "any of you expecting to make a career out of the bar biz better get out NOW we are taking it down "
OK
there were 5 count em 5 sound tech jobs in my little burg

betwixt non smoking and drinking and driving and free trade they did obliterate the bar biz here

now there is only one "gig" and they expect a beginning sound tech to work for free because its the "cultural center" and recent gradu8s need "valuable" experience..." only the 25 to 125 a ticket people can afford to go there at 5 plus a beer

they pay the out of town musicians, but expect local musicians ( often the ones that fill the room ) TO WORK FOR FREE

you know what JT?
CANADIAN ARTISTS ARE VALUABLE!!!!
help them out....
and to pay for it:
TAX THE EFFEN CHURCHES
at least with art you get SOMETHING for our money

No, its not. I understand you social conservatives aren't too keen on democracy but the people decide where to spend tax dollars by supporting parties that agree with their views. Rather than attacking democracy, why don't you try to convince people what to spend tax dollars on using common sense and reasonable arguments?

Oops, sorry...I forgot who I was talking to. Do you understand what "common sense" and "reasonable arguments" are?

Don't be a retard. Oops sorry you were born that way. My condolences to your parents.
Governments are elected to do what is best for the country not cave in to pressure groups.

They're elected to do what the voters want. If the voters don't like what they're doing they can toss them out. I know it's a difficult concept for you to wrap your head around but if you stick around long enough you might eventually do some "learnin"

It is a sponge. Sucks up too much public money for what it delivers. PBS in the States is public, too, but it provides its own funding through donations and EARNING grants.

There was a little bit in the vid that was interesting but most of it was simpl-minded logical fallacy usually called appeal to population. And it was still irrelevant to the topic of this thread.

Also, irrelevant to the thread topic.

They are elected to govern the nation as responsibly as possible... End of story
Yup. Most people can figure out that what they want is not necessarily what they need and, for some unknown reason, seem to think politicians can do what the populace needs.
