“Unlike the previous Canadian Liberal government, which closed the door to LNG exports,
Prime Minister Carney’s Liberal government has opened it. If the demand is here and the infrastructure is built, Canada will deliver,” he said in prepared remarks distributed prior to Wednesday’s event at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin. “For our customers, Canadian LNG is an insurance policy against volatility, against coercion and against rising carbon costs.”

Justin Trudeau‘s widely reported 2022 comment that there had
“never been a strong business case” for LNG exports to Europe, which was made during then-chancellor Olaf Scholz’s visit to Canada at the outset of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“This is the most important reform to how Canada builds major projects in decades,” he said. “For investors in this room, that means more certainty that once you commit capital, projects will actually maybe potentially eventually get built. It means Canada is once again open for business.”
Hodgson said Canada could reliably supply the 'lowest-risk and lowest-carbon' LNG to meet Germany's needs
