In a briefing for journalists at Germany's embassy in Ottawa on Friday, Jennifer Morgan, the country's state secretary and special envoy for international climate action (& Unicorns), warned that Germany and Europe will require less natural gas from countries like Canada in future.

Morgan, a U.S.-born former head of Greenpeace International, is Germany's first special envoy for international climate policy. She represents Europe's biggest economy and largest emitter and works frequently with her Canadian counterpart, Environment and Climate Change Minister Steven Guilbeault.
Well, it’s September in Germany now too. La Niña is expected to emerge, with chances for La Niña gradually increasing from 66% to 74% during the November 2024 to January 2025 timeframe, and Putin is still messing with Ukraine. The Weather Outlook says that while ‘El Niño can sometimes bring warmer winters to Europe and the UK, La Niña will usually bring colder winters.‘

Germany and Japan have also voiced interest in purchasing Canada’s LNG. But in August 2022, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he wasn’t sold on the idea of LNG exports being part of Canada’s long-term plan when it comes to becoming a reliable supplier of clean energy to Europe.
Well, let’s hope the Americans can hook a brother up….re Poland & natural gas.
…&…Japan's biggest top LNG buyer, JERA, plans to increase its purchases of liquefied natural gas from the United States to diversify its supply and meet demand growth spurred by data centres and AI, a senior executive told Reuters. Oh well.

Remember when he said the Senate should be bipartisan?
Remember when they ran on electoral reform (& legalization of weed) to get a majority? Pepperidge Farms remembers…

Canada got legalized weed eventually, but not so much on the electoral reform…but it’s only been about a decade so maybe they’re still work’n on that one?
