Mexico is a class society. There are very rich and also rich. There is an emerging working class who now have access to credit and so they can have cars and houses as long as they have good jobs.

But the peasant class are destined to stay there. They do not go to school and they work at unskilled jobs. The only way out is to make a big score. Sometimes they do that by working illegally in the US while living like peasants and saving everything they can. After 5 years, they return and start a business.

Their dependence on oil and US exports does make them vulnerable as a country. Right now they seem to be in better shape than the US but that is not saying much.:roll:

Unfortunately your right, they basically have a small rich class that controls most of the money with small middle class and a tremendous poor class. They never have shared the wealth, in this day and age one wonders why they haven't had a revolution, used to have one every couple of years. If history tells us anything it is that Mexico will never change. Life is not as bad in the U.S. as outsiders portray. Were getting along just fine.

There was hardly ANY crossing of the East\West border (aka the Iron Curtain) when the border there was manned by towers every 200 yards, order given to shoot on sight, and of course, the ground was seeded, quite effectively, with land mines.

A lot of this is smoke and mirrors. When they talk about "protecting the Mexican border" they never say which one. In reality 10X the money is spent by US agencies on Mexico's border with Guatemala.

Here is some news our bias mass media is keeping from us. The Mexican drug wars are getting just as bad as Iraq used to be. That is not the worse, seems they are bringing their war across the border into the United States. Why are we still futzing around in Iraq, time to cut the soldiers loose, come home and stop the Mexican drug war within our country.

Returning Mexicans are not the problem. This problem has grown beyond just being a local problem. Seems that the terrorists in the mid-East are coming here to cash in on the profits. This is not strictly a U.S. problem but is causing major crime throughout the U.S. all the way into Canada. Mexico is in a all out war over it and look like they are barely holding their own. It is time we did something serious to control or stop it. Seems Hezbollah has joined in with the smuggling along the Mexican border.
