Eagle-eyed space enthusiasts, obsessed with the prospect of past or present life on Mars, have spotted what they believe could be the remnants of a tree on the red planet.
The image – taken by NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity on March 25 – appears to show an oddly-shaped structure resembling a three-foot-tall petrified tree stump.
Or, as some viewers have pointed out, it could just be a rock.
However, conspiracy theory YouTube channel Paranormal Crucible referred to the image as “intriguing.”
“This object definitely looks out of place and in my opinion could be the petrified remnants of a Martian tree,” the channel states.
“Object is around three feet in height, and with numerous discoveries of plant and animal life on Mars, it would be logical to assume, that a variety of tree either existed, or still exists on this enigmatic planet.”
Researchers at NASA have long-speculated that liquid water exists on the fourth planet from the sun.
Following the release of The Martian back in 2015, NASA also confirmed that Mars’ soil has the nutrients needed to grow plants.
In a recorded conversation this week with American astronaut Peggy Whitson, U.S. President Donald Trump talked about NASA’s goal of one day sending man to Mars.
“I think we want to do it in my first term or at worst in my second term,” Trump said with a tongue-in-cheek smile, “so I think we’ll have to speed that up a little bit.”

Mostly they went to Mars ( I mean their rovers), but almost they hide many things or they lie about many things like the water and the life ... may be on purpose, so as to outstrip others to Mars in order to make a base there!?

We may doubt their claims: no water, no life .. when we notice they don't go to places which probably have life and water, as in some seasonal changes of gullies etc.

On such island in Canada or elsewhere they might have made some experiments before they launched their rovers.

We should all Reduce our carbon footprint.

That used to be a tree in a forest, see all that dust, that's the birds that used to sing in those same trees, the war between Mars and Venus. No harm done just wait a bit for the water.

They refused to pay carbon taxes.

I'm mostly carbon, I resent this tax, Al Gore is the only contribution to CO2 reduction I want to see.
