Nope- I have had my friend a Dr confirm that Ford is not a psychopath - does he lie- yep- does he stretch the truth- yep- has he been linked in a way where charges can be laid - nope.
So if he was smoking some grass, hash I could not give a shxt.
Now if you believe in due process well..............................

Unfortunately for Mr. Ford the political "court" doesn' t have to stand the scrutiny of a court of justice, just the whims of a bunch of voters of uncertain intellect marking an "X" at the ballot box.

.....there's a big fu cking difference between murdering thousands and using crack, only a brainless moron would make the comparison.
Tell that to peasants murdered by narco gangsters in the developing world-you know the place you've never been.

Y'know people here in Vancouver always think of TO as a dump and a sh!thole and with good reason-that's what it is.

But their flaky mayor outranks ours not just in kilos but in good old fashioned idiocy-we have Mayor Moonbeam they have Mayor Druggie-just like Detroit.

Can you or any body prove that? If not, then STFU.

Differences to be sure, Gerry, maybe he was weighing the similarities! -:)

TORONTO - Mayor Rob Ford’s lawyer agrees the headlines should be about somebody resigning.

“But I was thinking the police chief resigning is what should be the headline,” Dennis Morris said Thursday night. “The mayor has been convicted in the public by the police chief.”

In his more than 40 years of being a defence lawyer, Morris said, he never saw a more troubling prejudicial attack against someone who faces no charges than the one perpetrated by Blair.

Blair, of course, was speaking about the video which, according to media accounts, purportedly shows Ford smoking crack cocaine.

Blair told reporters, “I think it’s safe to say the mayor does appear in that video” and that “as a citizen of Toronto I’m disappointed” and that “this is a traumatic issue for the citizens of this city and for the reputation of this city and that concerns me.”

Morris said he couldn’t believe his ears.

“I was taken aback,” said Morris. “It was over the top. That is not his job.”

Chief Blair did not return an e-mail to respond.

If the Mayor has drug issues he needs help. If was being blackmailed he should step down.
He is neither Mussolini or Tommy Boy, but this is a sad state of affairs. When we like someone and they have a problem we feel bad and cheer for them to get better. When we don't like them they are monsters responsible for horrific acts. It's really too bad.

The revelation that the video has been retrieved is a major byline of the Ford rampage only because the Ford brothers (I'll excuse Doug on this because he may have believed his brother) and the right wing radio and the Sun disparaged the Star reporters and the 'left wing' media with impunity.

I was going back and forth between the 2 right wing talk radio stations yesterday and found it bemusing that they were all 'trying to get a hold of the Star reporters who claimed they saw the video' and these CONServative yappers were even suggesting that the Fords owed them an apology but they themselves never apologized to the Star.

As Rob Ford has shown us, those folks would rather go down in flames than acknowledge that "the other side" is right about something.

As for the video's value it only serves to prove that the Star didn't make up the story. What was in the pipe will (likely) never be proven unless Lisi rolls on Ford, so it's a moot point.

What's more interesting is the extortion charge against Ford's buddy.

Who was extorting who is the question of the day but that may be answered this morning when Sandro Lisi appears in court on the charges.

What's also just as interesting is how will the righties and Ford Nation react when the video is released and they listen to all of Ford's homophobic and racist ramblings.

Rob Ford in 'crack cocaine' video scandal | Toronto Star

It also proves that Ford hangs out with some pretty seedy people.................

Sun News whose coverage of the Ford crack vid has run mostly to complaining that the Star has it in for Ford and how any idiot could have faked the vid, was still running with that slant up till Blair spoke when they suddenly broke off mid rant about the media and went with :A special afternoon 28-page edition jam-packed with startling revelations about the alleged video showing Mayor Rob Ford smoking crack cocaine. free of charge at select downtown locations.

The Star broke the original story and the Sun excoriated them for it week after week. Now the Sun are trying to horn in on their revenue from it.

Wankers................

So we got the Tor Sun calling for Ford to step down and the Alberta Suns calling for Harper to step down.

What an upside down world we are in today..........

I've come to something of an epiphany after reading all the posts here...

Mussolini made the trains run on time so it was OK for him to murder thousands and thousands of innocents.

Ford improved garbage pickup so it's OK for him to use crack cocaine.

Apparently whatever his predecessors were using could neither get the garbage picked up or balance a budget. I'm betting they were mostly fueled by alcohol which would explain the previous problems.

Unfortunately for Rob Ford in politics, perception is everything and then there is the old saying "where there's smoke there's fire", he should probably consider those two things.

Guilty of what? Presumed innocent of what? The man hasn't been charged with anything. Get off his fu cking back and let him do his job. If he isn't doing his job, then attack him on that. This innuendo and insinuation bullshyte campaign is getting beyond ridiculous.

Oh I think given the weight of the allegations, people in Toronto should be concerned, even though Ford hasn't been charged. You've got the Chief of police saying that the video is consistent with what was reported in the media. It's pretty evident this Lisi guy was a pretty unsavory character.

That said, Canadians are more forgiving of recreational drug use than Americans are. And Ford supporters do tend to be devout.

I still think he's gone though. Good riddance, as far as I'm concerned.

I have to come to Gerry's defense here, he is perfectly correct in what he says as applied to procedure in a court of law. However as far as politics is concerned there is a lesser standard. I wouldn't send a mail to jail based on the evidence in this case, by the same token I wouldn't vote for a man, who has been suspected of drug use, associating with people I thought were involved in criminal activity, a man who appeared to at odds with his staff.
