My Canada Day plans were abruptly cancelled due to a rainstorm that blew in early today - hoping it will clear off in time for the fireworks display tonight. In the meantime, I get to watch the Jays vs Indians again - silver lining and all. :smile:

Just joined the game after watching the festivities on TV from Ottawa. We're off to the top of the 5th. The Indians lead by 1.

Judging by the score, Stroman is having a fair day so far..............keep it up Stro

3 up, 3 down and that's 9 in a row retired by Marcus

Just heard on the radio they should put the kibosh on these fireworks- more damage done to dogs on July 1 than any other day of the year, not to mention $millions pissed against the wall for a bunch of noise! :)

Cleveland won't even pitch to Josh - they will give him an intentional walk and load the bases with Travis up to bat. Apparently, Edwin was thrown out earlier after a heated discussion with the ump.

WTH? What damage to dogs? To their ear drums?

Our fireworks are small potatoes compared to those of cities like Vancouver, JLM. I love fireworks - they bring out the kid in me and I can oooh and aaah with all the other little ones. :smile:

More than a couple of really questionable calls by the ump today and Marcus just issued a walk on the last one. He's done for the day after throwing 94 pitches. Best outing Stroman has had in awhile.

Brett Cecil will finish off the inning for the Jays

2 fabulous curve balls by Cecil and a fly-out to center neatly nabbed by Pillar and the Indians are retired stranding two on base......heh, heh, heh....

Smoak to the plate, another questionable strike call by the stupid ump, ball inside, strike, ball two just misses hitting Smoak, ball 3, damn............Smoak goes out on a high foul ball to the Indian's 3rd baseman...........and we're off to the 12th inning.

Napoli pops up to Tulo - 1 away

Jesse doing pretty darn well out there as he gets the 2nd batter

The inning is over as the 3rd batter flies out to Pillar. 9 away for Jesse Chavez

Josh takes a nasty ball to his upper shoulder for a walk

Josh out at second but Travis makes it to first

Strike 3 called on Saunders and it's 2 away for the Jays

I do believe that Russell would much rather connect with the umps head than the ball right now

Russell strikes out ............oh, oh, and now he's thrown out of the game as he gets a tad upset with the stupid frickin' ump

Drew Storen in to pitch and Thole in as catcher

Indians get to first on a single to right field

First hit for either team since the 10th

Runner takes third as Storen gets the batter out at 1rst - 2 down

Indians retired with the go ahead run on 3rd

No hits for the Blue Jays off any of the relievers today..........so far

Maybe they will have some luck with this Chamberlain chap..........he seems to like dirt balls

Tulo gets a single and lands on first

Ball 3 to Smoak and now the stupid ump is helping the Jays out

Tulo caught at second but Smoak makes it safely to first

Junior Lake replaces Smoak at first

Pillar safe at first but Lake out at second and the Jays are hanging in there

Chamberlain should stick to pitching and forget about throwing to first

Barney with a beautiful double lands on second and Pillar makes it safely to 3rd

2 out, 2 on base and Carrera comes to the plate

Chamberlain bounces the pitch off the plate, walks Carrera and the Bringer of Rain comes to the plate

Be still my heart

The clouds don't part and the rain doesn't come and the Jays are out as Josh gets tagged at first

I think we are off to the 15th inning...........though honestly, I've lost count

Drew Storen still in the game. Junior Lake takes over at first for Smoak.

First out for Cleveland on high fly to Saunders in left field

Storen falls behind 3 and 0

And walks the batter

Jays out to conference with Storen....buck up matey

Storen does not inspire me with confidence.........there you go base hit to first missed by Lake and the Indians have two on base

And Storen is out, Schultz is in with 1 out

And the Jays get out of the inning with a fabulous double-play

So the Indians have called their starting pitcher for tomorrow to the mound and he gets the first out

This is officially the longest ball game I have ever watched. Sure hope the Jays can come through and win this one soon as I am outta here in about an hour.

Jeez.........Ryan Goins is down in the bull pen........would they really put him on the mound?

I think they would be better off going with Estrada at the start of the 17th.

But it looks like this may be the last inning.

Also doesn't help that Martin and Encarnasion were ejected. Can't help but think one of them would have popped one over the fence if they weren't.

I saw the replay of the inning that saw Edwin tossed and Gibbons along with him - wonder what got Edwin so upset - he's usually a cool head - maybe it was that stupid frickin' home-plate umpire.

Tulo advances to second as ball goes off the glove of the catcher

Lake out at first, Tulo holds at second. Pillar to the plate

Pillar beats the throw to first and Tulo gets to second.

Pillar steals second but Barney flies out and it's 2 away for the Jays. Carrera to the plate

Carrera strikes out and we are off to the 17th

Bo Schultz is back out for the Jays

He does seem to have settled down in these last few innings

What a job by Bo.............gets us out of the top of the inning

This game just matched the longest game in the majors this year.

Lead-off walk for Josh

Double-play for Indians as Travis flies out and Josh is caught after running to 2nd
