Dang! Well, if the Jays take the first two, perhaps the added pressure will cause the Stankees to fold like a cheap suit in the third game!

And enjoy the game! The last one I went to was Toronto vs Baltimore, and Brandon Morrow was the starter. He stunk that night, and they lost.

If the Jays maintain or grow lead tomorrow, anything other than a Yankee sweep will be good.

I hope that this doesn't come down right to the wire. I remember the sadness that is known as the 1989 season.

1989 was good. 12-24 in last place in May. Change manager and wind up clinching on final Saturday with winning first 2/3 against Baltimore.

You may be thinking of 1987 where they had a 3.5 game lead with 7 left but had lost Fernandez and Whitt due to injury and lost them all to lose the division.

I'm not really irked about Osuna blowing the save, as even Mariano Rivera did it on occasion (and it only had made it a 4-4 game), but I did NOT like the way Sanchez pitched tonight. He, quite frankly, stunk. He needs to pick it up if he wants to keep his spot as he has not looked that great lately. I'm not saying the Jays would have still gotten those two runs in the bottom of the 9th, but if it had been still 4-4, there would have been a much greater chance!

Stankees are now 3.5 games back. They have CC Sabathia pitching tomorrow, so I like the Mets chances!

I hope the Jays bounce back tomorrow.

I agree with you about sanchez, I've also noticed that he isn't pitching like his ole self, he looks
kind of ordinary, and I have lost confidence in him right now.

Usually he has screwed up in his 2nd inning of work. Tonight was hist first although his 2nd in 2 days. Perhaps his arm is getting tired.

You, my friend, are of course correct. Got the years mixed up!

He shouldn't be getting that tired! He's a starter that's been put into the bullpen. He should still have a lot of innings left!

Tigers did us a favour again! They just won 6-5 in 11 innings over KC. The Jays remain 1 game behind them for the AL lead.

Tigers just beat the Royals in bottom of 11th. So Jays still just one game off best record in baseball. Glad when we are done with the Red Sox after tomorrow Yankees still play Boston for 4 in final week..

how can the arm of a bullpen pitcher get tired, unless of course they pitch 3 or 4 innings,
2 days in a row, but he has only pitched one inning for a long time, then 2, and he blew it
in the second, now, 1 inning 2 days in a row, if his arm is tired, maybe he needs to pitch
more and get his arm in better shape. hmmm I wonder. maybe he doesn't have a good attitude
from being in the bullpen all year, he might do better as a starter, which of course, he wants
to be, but too late for this season.

Boston has played much better of late. I think they will give the Stankees fits. Toronto still should have won tonight, however.;)

I don't think it's an attitude problem. There doesn't seem to be any attitudes on that team right now. I think it is probably mental fatigue more than any physical ailments. He is still quite young, and this is only his second year playing in the majors (and last year wasn't a full season if I recall correctly).

I subscribed to MLB.TV Premium for $10 for the rest of the season. Pretty cool that I can watch any game (such as tigers & royals tonight) with the click of a mouse. If they are still running the special, you may want to give it a try.

We have become spoiled. If this exact game had happened in June, we would have been saying 'same old Blue Jays -- need a better bullpen'.

It's pretty amazing how much better our bullpen has been since the AS break. Look at Cecil for example. He was horrible to start the season, but he is almost automatic right now. I like not having Loup and Delebar in all the time like they were earlier. And the good thing about Osuna is that he won't let this get to him. He'll be back dealing his next game in!

I'm temporarily laid off at the moment and am paying for a new car. Unfortunately, even $10 is something I can't afford at the moment.

yeah, that definitely could be the reason, everyone has their own mental toughness and ability to put out
more than what another might have, and he is young, as well as osuna, and they need to watch him closely
too as the season winds down, he has carried a big load as their best closer, and playoffs might shake
him up a bit, hope not, but at 20 years old, its asking a lot for him to be the one to hold the game
together in the last inning, especially if it is one run difference.

Sorry to hear that. Good luck finding a new job. Or is it a layoff for a period of time then they are going to recall you?

It's just until the new Taco Bell is built. The old one was falling apart, and it was more feasible to just tear it down and build a new one. They are using the new site, so that is why we aren't working while it is getting built. It should only be until February 2016 at the latest.

Okay.............I'll go first. A little surprised at the loss today. I understand how it happened by not quite sure why unless it was that the lead-off pitcher for the Sox was smoking hot today? Hard to win a game when it is even harder to get on base. The errors by the Blue Birds were another factor - especially that miss at home-plate by Navarro that, if I remember rightly, scored the winning run? That's my two cents.

They lost because the stunk. Pretty simple. Lost a game to KC. Probably will lose a full game to the Yankees tonight. Now they need to go into the series with a mind set of need 2/3. I believe particularly with their defense today they have been reading too much of their own press clippings.

the red sox pitching today was stellar, have to give them credit, and the jays made some

defensive errors, unlike their normal efficient play in the field, just the way it goes folks,

that's baseball, nothing is guaranteed, there is always the other team, and they want to show

their stuff too, next year the sox will be back fighting for top spot, need more pitching, they

certainly have the rest of the game.

red sox also hit some lucky dribblers today, those are pure luck, nothing planned

in that kind of hit, the batter was trying to hit it out of the infield, and

missed, most times a good runner can beat out those kinds of hits, and
most times, the infielders are playing back, not expecting the ball
to dribble into the infield, unless it is a bunt situation.
