Just as many as there are parking in handicapped stalls or too close to corners or taking 2 spots. I hav no problem with making the fine quite hefty, say $500-1000, because it is a matter of preserving public and private property and sometimes lives. That doesn't mean I condone doing $5000 worth of damage to somebody else's private property to prove a point when there is another viable option for routing the hose. If there is absolutely no way to go over, under or around it then sure, smash the glass, but that should really be the last resort, not the first option.

Nick I think you value buddies car more than he/she did/does. If I park my $50,000 car in front of a fire hydrant and walk away knowing this do I really care much if they smash the windows in...no. Am I the kind of person who thinks to myself; "wow, I'm in front of a fire hydrant, it might take them a full minute more to hook up to water, someone could die because of that" no I'm not...I'm a douche.

A rich douche but a douche none the less.

All wonderful advice. Do you have any advice for firemen who would smash the car windows and put large dents in the car doors and fender when it wasn't needed.?:smile:

I have zero advice for them as they did the right thing. Perhaps use the hood as a command center?

I went to the net for these. Although it is a rare occurrence, it is not the first time cars in the US have had hoses run through them for parking in front of a fire hydrant during a fire.

I guess none of you morons yapping about straight hose happened to notice the kinks between the hydrant and the car, kind of puts that theory in the dark what

If you read the story moron you'd see the firemen and some helpful residents later bounced the BMW to give the hose a little more room.

Everyone knows you don`t park in front of a hydrant. Tough crap for the BMW owner.
