Northern Ontario,
:laughing3:

Referenda are anti-democratic. That's a hoot! Politicians can feel what their constituents want perhaps? They just know. That's why they're voted in. That's what democracy is.

And he probably is in favor of proportional representation......like Mentalfloss...

Then let's decide everything by referendum.

Democracy doesn't have to be just one form of voting. Referenda are democratic. Elections are democratic. Protests are democratic. Ever been to one? One popular chant is "this is what democracy looks like!" And it is.

Certain small towns in New England still do all business by popular referendum. With the expansion of the internet, this may become possible nationwide. Be interesting.

oh bullshit.

referendums are the result of a broken democratic process. they are held in order to get the result someone wants but is unble to get by normal democratic means.

Total anarchy and the complete breakdown of the last semblance of good American governance! You'll be having gun battles on the street to break referenda deadlocks!

Be interesting.

Wrong. It's a method sitting governments use to forego having to make a decision that they feel is politically unpopular. The government is not blamed when a referendum decides an issue.

The electorate can't handle the truth!

Q: Why does a groom smile as he stands at the front?

A: He knows he's given his last muff dive.

Hmmm... Why does the joke work for a woman but not for a man?

The Neverendum .... What are you going to do, re-run it until everyone is happy with the result?

More like rerun until you get at least a slim majority for the answer you want. Then claim a landslide victory.

They should give more options. A lot of Brexiters don't want any negotiations or deals with EU. They just want to get straight out.

What kind of Brexit would you like?
Pick at least one Brexit option but no fewer than three unless otherwise directed by local aristocracy or voting north of Norfolk and/or south of Southampton. Uncounted Brexit ballots can be redeemed for $1 off a sausage roll at participating Greggs on or before the Queen's second birthday.

  • Hold the Brexit
  • Hard Brexit
  • Poached Brexit
  • Full English Brexit
  • Continental Brexit

Brexit lite.
