I have a black belt. It keeps my blue pants up.

Lol. Both my kids studied karate, and my son taught it since he was 15 when he got his first black belt. He actually got his third degree. It was a hell of a lot of work, I was quite proud of him.

Actually I did it for a while back in Ottawa too. It was amazingly fun! And very empowering. Great for self-esteem!

I still think guns are more of a deterrent. Law enforcement officers are trained in martial arts and they still carry a gun

Monday, the grandkids are doing their tests. What belts? Dunno. Grand daughter's been in martial arts for a couple of years now. Five-year-old grandson has some pretty impressive moves in his first year. What sucks is kids have to lose some innocence to be prepared

They don't really have to loose innocence. Both my kids were young when they started and I've watched more kids classes than I care to remember. What I found is the most beneficial aspect of it, and the thing that will keep them safe, is theself discipline it instills and the way it teaches them to be aware of their surroundings without putting the fear of God into them.

My son used to be the kid who was daydreaming walking down the street, he wouldn't be able to tell you how many house he passed or what colour the cars were. But once he started learning then he could, but he wasn't afraid. It was just better awareness. It changes your thinking I guess.

I'm not sure if I'm describing it properly. Hopefully you'll know what I mean.

Would it be pointed out that the danger had ended, and she then assaulted the
second dork? Just curious...as I think she should'a kept their wallets (for the
I.D. & the hassle factor) and maybe their bicycles, & their pants too after
the encounter.

Not sure if she'd want to touch those pants. I imagine they were full of poop after the beatdown they received.;)

I have a black belt. It keeps my blue pants up.

Black and blue don't go together... My black belt was purchased in Rosen's Men's Wear for big and handsome guys....I only wear it with my 5000 yen grey suit , and motorcycle boots.

God I'm good:glasses1:

The jerk with the knife is lucky she didn't give him the hi-lo roundhouse castration kick to the ankle.......FREAKIN DEVESTATIN!!!

Is pulling a knife not grounds for attempted murder??

8O..........Dunno if that qualifies for a "beatdown"..............She punched him a time or two in the face, other guy pulled a knife and she backed off..........smart lady.

I'm sure she could have disarmed the fool if she had to, but in the grand scheme of things it is just as well that she didn't have to attempt to do so(the punk could have gotten a lucky slice in and if the knife hits the wrong spot she's in a world of trouble(and I somehow doubt those dumbass punks would have tried to stem the bleeding at all).
