How is it supposed to work? Is everyone to barter their furs and gold at the local Bank of Canada? And is everyone to individually bid on Treasury Bills?

If the Bank of Canada had to provude full retail services, including R&D, I highly doubt anyone would get the overnight lending rate.

Those parts of the system would also be eliminated, the displaced previously employed in speculative ventures would be absorbed into the farm collectives and various salt and gold exploration and excavation programs. All of the camps will have extensive retail services.

Banks make enormous, almost obscene, profits. But that is not the real problem, which is fiat currency which creates money out of thin air.

Ah, the salt mines.

I know what you're thinking and you're wrong, these are not the horrible death pits depicted by Holly-Wood. These will be modern fascilitys luxuriously appointed with creature comforts sure to promote a happy productive innovative group of ah associates
members committed to reach production quotas. Plumbing is in the design stages.

The obscene part is that you and I give the bankers an opportunity to make those profits.
Those obscene profits help pay for most people's pensions, so I hope their profits continue to grow.

I hear you Cliff but technically speaking you are not quite right, some of those "profits" are actually dividends and interest to shareholders without which the share holders would soon be share holding with other companies and the banks would be broke.

It is not the bankers who give money its value; it is the production of the country. Bankers produce absolutely nothing; they only create the figures that allow the nation to make use of its own producing capacity, its own wealth. Without the production of all the citizens in the country, the figures of the bankers are worthless.

Any increase via usury is unjust - therefore, DEATH TO BANKERS.

I think what Gerry is saying, China, is you have a couple of "rough edges" that need some smoothing!

You can thank Mulroney for selling our debt to private banks. That guy is a twat.

You're not saying he's useful are you?

The Royal Bank says profits increased by a massive 73 per cent in the third quarter of 2012 and earnings hit $2.24 billion.
The news comes as TD Canada Trust and CIBC also reported much higher earnings Thursday. And earlier this week, the Bank of Nova Scotia and Bank of Montreal both announced large profits and higher dividends.
Combined, Canada's five largest banks recorded a $7.8 billion profit in the third quarter of 2012 alone, soaring past expectations and recording a 45 per cent increase from a year earlier.

The other parts of the system that would be eliminated would be social services, lots of infrastructure, and pensions.

... And what those times when the banks were money losers?

Lemme guess, your standard reply would be that they took a risk in getting into that game and they lost.

You just don't like it when someone/group makes money. The moment they do, you sit in judgement of what is acceptable and magically the rest should be divvied-up to you and your buddies.

It is not the bankers who give money its value; it is the production of the country.

And without a formal group to backstop this production, you have no platform to produce... Funny how that works, eh?

Bankers produce absolutely nothing; they only create the figures that allow the nation to make use of its own producing capacity, its own wealth.

Then don't use the banks, take Kreskin's advice and trade furs, chickens and preserves and see how long it takes to trade-up to a trans national highway or national pension coverage
.

Those profits are stolen from other citizens .

What a laugh.

What leftarded site did you dig up that bit if drivel from. Bankers have never forced anyone to take out a loan. Or for that matter even open a bank account.

Who's gonna issue the cash?

Will there be a central repository where you can take your chickens and preserves to exchange for paper?
