I don't think they are turning on him. They never really were on his side, given the fact that he's a New York City liberal. They've tried to work with him because he's "Republican" and the have to at least pretend there is unity. That only goes so far.
They will probably save more than that just with government workers party deciding they want an unpaid vacation. Or a couple of days of millitary rest.

Maryanne Trump Barry, Donald Trump’s older sister and a United States Circuit Judge, told reporters over the weekend, “Donnie’s not acting right. ”
The 80-year-old also says she believes that President Trump might be forgetting to take his pills.
