The Wall Street Journal featured an editorial in its weekend edition declaring that if Donald Trump went ahead with his plan to impose tariffs on America’s two biggest trading partners, it would constitute “the dumbest trade war in history.”

He did, and it is.
If you cant see the goal....

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to speak with President Donald Trump today as Canada's leaders scramble to prepare for a trade war with the United States.

Trump mentioned the planned conversation after returning to Washington from Florida on Sunday night and Trudeau's office confirmed a call is scheduled.

Trump signed executive orders Saturday evening to hit Canada with damaging duties of 10 per cent on energy and 25 per cent on everything else.

Canada's initial tariff response takes effect Tuesday, when the American tariffs are applied.

In three weeks, Ottawa plans to add another $125 billion in tariffs on hundreds of other U.S. goods after consulting with industry.

Trudeau says additional non-tariff measures are being discussed by the federal and provincial governments, including some related to critical minerals, energy and procurement.

What took Trudeau so long?

If only there were a way to eliminate all trade and investment barriers once and for all.

What are the plans for the income from retaliatory tariffs? Pay down debt? Lower income taxes? Rebates to Canadian consumers? More tampons for men?
To raise politicians salaries and increase benefits will be a priority

Seeing this as Justin Trudeau's potential Waterloo where he defends and leads his country and people to greater heights grabbing momentum and sweeping his way to a new majority government. All he needs to do is shave his head and add some war paint. He knows what works best.

There is nothing the Liberals can do when they are the reason we're in this mess. When is the realization light going to come on?

What does America’s banks have access to the Canadian market have to do with fentanyl & border jumpers? Puts those two things in perspective as the excuse, they just were initially to enact this emergency, whatever it is.

Step one in unification. Equal banking footing.

TD, Royal, Scotia, BMO are operating in the US. Did their world grind to halt when those banks cleaned up in the US after the 2008 crash?

The stupidity is as thick as the fake panic being spread.

Reality says its impossible.

Before thinking about tariffs, 27.6 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity needs to be sourced if cut off. 4.3Mbbls oil per day needs to be sourced as does 2.99 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

If cut off for just 1 day the anarchy would be overwhelming.
