One of the most stunningly visual and spiritual videos ever made:

"Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." (1John 4:1-3 NIV)

That is a really sad and pathetic response. You should try and release your mind from that vise once in a while. If you would have watched it you would have heard him talk about the Father and the Son and you would have seen that the magnificent photography could only have been inspired by a deep spiritual understanding. Everything is of the Creator. There is no separation. One cannot escape that with their belief systems or lack thereof. We are all children of the same Creator. That you call it something different does not change what it is. There is only One. We are all One. Free your mind from the prison that separates you from everybody and everything else.

I couldn't be bothered to memorize "scriptures cuz they are mistranslated, misinterpreted gibberish, but I remember something about Jesus reportedly saying something like "you read the scriptures daily for in them you think you find truth (or god or life)." You will never find any of that in the written words. It is only in life that you will find them.
Seems Cliffy you are you referring to John 5:39-42? If so, it is a misunderstanding of what that scripture of Jesus was stating in plain english & also being used out of context. If there is a different scripture you were paraphrasing citing the chapter & verse would make it available to others to look it up for themselves to see if your paraphrase is accurate.

John 5 NASB

Witness of the Scripture

39“You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; 40and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. "

In John chapter 5: Jesus was speaking to the Jews that He knew were seeking to kill Him. Jesus was saying to them you Jews study the scriptures daily but while you do that, you fail to recognize that I am the Messiah that these scriptures are referring to. Here you Jews are not recognizing who I AM----You are unwilling to receive Me that you would have LIFE i.e. forgiveness of your sins & Eternal Life.
Jesus said further, I do not receive glory from men; but I know you people standing here--- I know what is in your hearts and you do not have the love of GOD in yourselves.

You miss the point. Literalists always miss the point. You misunderstand the whole point of the book. BTW, Jesus never spoke English, not even plain english. He spoke Aramaic or Hebrew and none of the original writings about him survived. I bet you do not have a clue why that is. Anyway, my point is that you cannot know god reading a book any more than you can know a person by reading their autobiography. The Creative Force cannot be contained in our books or houses of worship. It can only be experienced with the heart through an intimate connection with the Source.

Jesus supposedly went out into the wilderness for 40 days where he fasted, meditated and fought his personal demons. If you really are serious about having a relationship with your creator, I'm afraid you will have to do the same. Nothing else will suffice. The bible appeals to the ego and the intellect, not the soul. That is why so many evangelical types are barking up the wrong tree. You think you are the only ones who know the divine but really all you know is a bunch of archaic writings that sooth you ego.

There are many worldly things that have spiritual element in them & spiritual doesn't = Godly, wise or Truth. The video didn't seem particularly spiritual to me, more just an emoting earthy pagan spirituality to it. The God in everything philosophy is called pantheism. It's worship of the creature and not the Creator. The Bible says it gives testimony of who God is- I stick with the Word of God for wisdom & answers, not through the myths of persons.

What does it mean to have faith in Jesus?

John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The key is belief, in response to God’s love. Anyone who places his or her faith in Jesus has the promise of eternal life.

Without faith in Jesus, we remain in sin and cannot be accepted into God’s presence in His perfect heaven. With faith in Jesus, we are given access to the Father as God’s own children (
John 1:12).

To have faith in Jesus is to reject all other ways of salvation. We cannot trust in Jesus and anything else. We trust in Jesus alone. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (
Acts 4:12). Salvation is exclusive. Jesus is the only way (John 14:6).

What is pantheism?

Question: "What is pantheism?"

Answer:
Pantheism is the view that God is everything and everyone and that everyone and everything is God. Pantheism is similar to polytheism (the belief in many gods), but goes beyond polytheism to teach that everything is God. A tree is God, a rock is God, an animal is God, the sky is God, the sun is God, you are God, etc. Pantheism is the supposition behind many cults and false religions (e.g., Hinduism and Buddhism to an extent, the various unity and unification cults, and “mother nature” worshippers).

Does the Bible teach pantheism? No, it does not. What many people confuse as pantheism is the doctrine of God's omnipresence.
Psalm 139:7-8 declares, “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.” God's omnipresence means He is present everywhere. There is no place in the universe where God is not present. This is not the same thing as pantheism. God is everywhere, but He is not everything. Yes, God is “present” inside a tree and inside a person, but that does not make that tree or person God. Pantheism is not at all a biblical belief.

The clearest biblical arguments against pantheism are the countless commands against idolatry. The Bible forbids the worship of idols, angels, celestial objects, items in nature, etc. If pantheism were true, it would not be wrong to worship such an object, because that object would, in fact, be God. If pantheism were true, worshipping a rock or an animal would have just as much validity as worshipping God as an invisible and spiritual being. The Bible’s clear and consistent denunciation of idolatry is a conclusive argument against pantheism.

You said what you were saying was Bible scripture, you said that Jesus said it. Apparently it was just " the world according to Cliffy" pretending to quote the words of Jesus and attributing to Him something other than what He said? Not very truthful was it?
Btw, the term I used, it is a common phrase " IN PLAIN ENGLISH" Mr. "not Literal", have you've never heard of that expression? huh? For someone who is accusing someone else of being "literal" ......you thought I "literally" meant that the Bible was originally written in English? Lol!!
Btw, there you go again making stuff up. Nowhere does the Bible say Jesus fought "personal" demons. The Bible says Jesus was perfect and sinless as a matter of fact. Adam and Eve’s disobedience to God in the Garden of Eden ushered sin into this world (
Genesis 3:6). With their sin came death, just as God had warned (Genesis 2:17). As a result, mankind is now born with a sin nature (Romans 5:12–19), and it is with us from the time we are conceived (Psalm 51:5). The Bible makes it clear, however, that Jesus Christ, though tempted in every way just as we are (Hebrews 4:15), never committed a sin (2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 John 3:5). The apostle Peter stated it clearly: “He committed no sin and no deceit was found in His mouth” (1 Peter 2:22). Indeed, as Jesus Christ is God, He has no capacity to sin. No sin = no demons , no flaws.

The Bible says Matt 4: , Luke 4:11 That Satan tested Jesus in the wilderness.
The Bible is the inerrant Word of God. The Bible delares what it is in fact , that it is the written Word of God and Jesus is also called the Word of God.

2Tim3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

Hebrews 4:12 “The word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart”

What does it mean that the Bible is infallible? What is biblical infallibility?

Romans 15:4 "For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope."

If you continue listen to yourself or worldly wisdom, rather than seeking the living God of the Bible & trying to understand His inerrant Word & receiving Jesus as your personal Saviour you will remain stuck in your own little ego world of confusion and self-delusion. Just don't pretend that your own words are what Jesus said. If you quote scripture or reference it's meaning, for clarity sake and accuracy write the Chapter & verse. Thanx

My "spirituality" calls you "Friend" and urges discernment, Cliffy. Your "spirituality" labels me "sad" and "pathetic" and urges me to lose my mind.

We worshipped a collection of writings, written by men, which were assembled and approved by a council of men,who were appointed by a madman. I don't question the beauty of your individual spirituality and your loyalty to Jesus Motar. I just think we were sold a bill of goods and I think it's time we keep our hearts open to what is true.

You took that personally. Too bad. That is not what I said. I said your response was. "Hate the sin but love the sinner" applies to a lot of stuff. This is not about you. I am expressing my truth the same way you are expressing yours.
You call me friend then tell me my beliefs are false then get all upset when I tell you you are wrong when you say only your beliefs are true and everything else is false. You really are a strange person.

I am a Christian discussing Christ in a Christian thread, Cliffy. How does that make me strange?

What makes you strange is that you always answer a question with a question, thus avoiding the subject every time. You do not come here to discuss, you come here to preach and nobody here, as if you haven't noticed, is buying your sales pitch. You never respond to other people's posts with your own words, you only post cut and paste passages from a book that the one you are throwing it at has told you time and again that they don't believe is worth the paper it is written on. This leads me to believe that you either can't think for yourself, or you don't respect anybody else's opinion. Sometimes it seems like a gorilla throwing poop at his audience.

"you never..."
"you only..."
"you either can't..."
"you don't..."

It seems like the subject of the discussion for you, Cliffy is me.

Do you identify yourself a Christian? because I see no evidence by your knowledge, interest, beliefs or behavior.
I am me. Who are you? Are you the label you attach yourself to or are you a person? Can you think for yourself or do you come to preach to the heathen? This is an open forum. All members are welcome to participate in all threads. If you want to talk with Christians only, you are welcome to go to a Christian forum.

To answer your question, I am a follower of the teaching of Jesus, the Buddha, Indigenous peoples, Mother Nature, Life, etc. But I prefer Born Again Pagan. It has a nice ring to it. BTW, I was born into the Catholic religion but I have experienced so much more. You might try trying to understand other perspectives instead of steadfastly believing you belong to the only valid one. It is very restricting and separates you from everybody else in smug self righteousness.

God knows the answer to whether a soul has rejected GOD -- we do not...it is up to each individual to accept what is being offered, it is a free gift of grace through Jesus Christ.

Quite right, Trek. The door stands open today. An unprecedented ingathering of redeemed ones is predicted to occur during the "storm before the calm".

Right, Ok so.......then you are not a Christian, but you pretend to be knowledgeable or authoritative concerning the Bible & the teachings of Jesus Christ -- this we can see is false. A Christian IS a follower of Christ. You Cliffy are a dabbler in many religious & spiritual ideologies-- that does not make you follower of Jesus.
What you said you are is totally consistent with your mishmash of confused spiritual babblings & discordant philosophical rantings.
Lol! I can be on whatever forum I chose. However, with that stated, I do prefer intelligent discussion & that is dismally absent on this forum.
