Republican men — and not a single GOP woman — will be Christine Blasey Ford's interrogators on the Senate Judiciary Committee

WASHINGTON — Next week, Christine Blasey Ford will likely face intense questioning from Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee about the truthfulness of her accusations against Brett Kavanaugh, the Supreme Court nominee, who she says attempted to rape her during a party in the 1980s. Her turn on Capitol Hill could decide Kavanaugh’s suddenly uncertain fate, as well as the Supreme Court’s direction for a generation.
Ford will face questions from the 11 Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee, all of them men, with an average age of 62. (The chairman, Chuck Grassley of Iowa, the second-oldest sitting senator, is 85.) In the committee’s 202-year history, it has not had a single Republican woman. Four of the 10 Democrats are women, including ranking member Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, who is a few months older than Grassley. The committee has never been chaired by a woman.

Without any valid corroborating evidence an investigation or a hearing would come down to a competition of credibility between Christine Blasey Ford and Brent Kavanaugh which will favour Kavanaugh with out clear evidence to the contrary. If it comes down to an investigation of 'he said/she said' Ford should not expect it to be limited to an investigation of the supposed assault and Kavanaugh's background alone.

It would, in fact, be an open an investigation in the backgrounds and charaters of both. Kavanaugh has been through 6 of them and after he turned 18 he was blanched finely milled wheat.. a Catholic altar boy. What's in Christine's background. Was she promiscuous, did she abuse alcohol or drugs, was she a party girl, did she have a criminal record? What is her history of psychological distress and therapy. What do her former students, neighbours, colleagues say about her, and everyone has their nay sayers. That'll all be open to public inspection. My guess is it would turn up some course gruel.

Which is why she and her legal team are desperately seeking a graceful exit; likely by refusing to appear in an attempt to villianize the Confirmation process. She's had her say. She's soiled Kavanaugh's reputation for life, caused pain and confusion to his wife and kids, without and iota of supporting evidence.

She's motivated by a political agenda and radical handlers in the feminist, lesbian legal collective that represents her. People like this always have a past. Which is why i'm quite confident that once the GOP called her bluff, refused to capitulate, ditch Kavanaugh and, treat her claim with complete credulity she started to looking for a way to retreat back to her career, college and, family. Likely with the status of feminist champion and certified 'victim'. Should help her career.

Let's see. I'd put the odds of her testifying at about 1 in 10. The odds of her allowing a full investigation of her background and character in comparison to Kavanaugh at 1 in 10,000.

But i could be wrong.

The Dems foresaw all this which is why they saved to leak just prior to the Confirmation vote in an attempt to make an unprovable allegation an issue in the Mid Terms or to delay it until they could see if they could wrest back the Senate and defeat it in the next term.

I wonder if Trump is subtly standing down on backing Kavanaugh because the GOP could then run on a supreme court pick again come the mid terms in a month if Kavanaugh goes down? Having to redo the Supreme Court pick could light a fire under evangelicals. Plus more people in the US are against Kavanaugh than for him.

More Oppose Kavanaugh Than Support Him

September 20, 2018 at 5:58 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 135 Comments

A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal finds that more American voters now oppose Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination than support it after he was accused of committing sexual assault while he was in high school, with opposition increasing 9 points since last month.

Key findings: 38% of voters say they oppose Kavanaugh’s nomination to serve on the nation’s highest court, including 27% who “strongly” oppose him. That’s compared with 34% who support his nomination, including 25% who “strongly” support him. Twenty-eight percent say they don’t enough to have an opinion.

Ford does not want to be questioned by outside counsel and wants to be questioned by senators. She believes senators should be accountable to the American public for what they ask. She does not want to be in the same room as Kavanaugh. CNN

Have No Idea’: Kavanaugh Accuser's Classmate Backtracks on Sexual Assault Claim

The sexual assault charges against Trump Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh began to unravel this week after his accuser's lawyer said hearings on the allegations would not be appropriate at this time.

Cristina King Miranda, a former classmate of Christine Blasey Ford, the woman accusing Kavanaugh of having sexually assaulted her in high school, has backed off from her earlier claims suggesting she had information about the alleged assault.

Heartless? ABC Ignores Death Threats Against Kavanaugh’s Family

...In sharp contrast, both the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News found the few seconds needed to mention the death threats against Kavanaugh and his family. “CBS News has confirmed that he and his wife have received multiple death threats, and that the U.S. Marshals are now investigating,” reported CBS congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes.

“Kavanaugh and his family have also received threats and hateful e-mails. But the source tonight saying, Kavanaugh remains determined and hopeful,
