White House blocks news organizations from press briefing
CNN and other news organizations were blocked Friday from a White House press briefing.
There was no immediate explanation from the White House.
The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and Politico were also excluded from the meeting, which is known as a gaggle and is less formal than the televised Q-and-A session in the White House briefing room.
The Associated Press and Time magazine boycotted the briefing because of how it was handled. The White House Correspondents Association is protesting.
The conservative media organizations Breitbart News, The Washington Times and One America News Network were allowed in.

Hours earlier, at the Conservative Political Action Conference outside Washington, President Trump mocked and disparaged the news media. He said that much of the press represents "the enemy of the people."
"They are the enemy of the people because they have no sources," Trump said. "They just make them up when there are none."
He also said reporters "shouldn't be allowed" to use unnamed sources.

heh
as the New York Times itself reported in 2015, President Barack Obama met privately with liberal reporters and columnists frequently throughout his tenure in office — “more than a dozen” times. And although he occasionally invited conservative columnists, “Liberal-leaning columnists from newspapers tend to dominate at Mr. Obama’s secret sessions.” Obama’s private briefings for liberal members of the media, which excluded conservatives, were well-documented. A few:
- December 2012: Several journalists reported that MSNBC hosts were meeting privately with President Obama to discuss the impending “fiscal cliff” fight.
- May 2013: NPR’s Ari Shapiro reported that President Obama was meeting privately with “lefty columnists,” but hastened to add that there was “nothing nefarious” about it.
- November 2013: President Obama met again with liberal journalists, as Obamacare struggled with the failure of healthcare.gov and other problems.
- March 2015: Politico’s media reporter, Hadas Gold, reported that “a group of journalists and columnists,” all on the left, met privately with President Obama, but the White House refused to say “who else was at the meeting or what was discussed.”
On Friday, CNN media reporter Dylan Byers expressed concern at the alleged exclusion of left-leaning media outlets. Yet in 2015, he wrote about the frequency of Obama’s private meetings with journalists. Byers noted that President Obama “holds the occasional meeting with conservatives,” but the list of “regulars” included a roster of prominent liberal journalists.

I like the CBC though .A lot of news is on a slant. I watched a documentary on Osama Bin Ladin a couple of weeks ago. Seems he just materialized as some bad attitude rich guy out of the bowels of Pakistan. They overlooked his service to US in their usury war against Russia on Afghan soil - long before they became of no use when Russia capitulated.
If you want the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, Murrika's not the state from which you'll hear it either....
Actually if you read the constitution of the United States of America you will not find a section that commands the president or his officials to speak with the press . Although the constitution allows for freedom of the press nowhere does it give the press any authority over or grant access to elected officials .As if his campaign doesn't slant skew and selectively release info they want us to hear it...
And Trump does not have the right to choose which press we should and shouldn't hear. That **** is absolutely anti American and anti democracy.
Check the web cam and you will see a line of cars going into the U.S. at Douglas border crossing . These aren't tourists mind you , they are simply Canadians filling up with cheap gasoline to get around carbon pricing .Who the fukk wanted to go there in the first place?
The Travel Press is Reporting the 'Trump Slump,' a Devastating Drop in Tourism to the United States
Though they may differ as to the wisdom of the move, the travel press and most travel experts are of one mind: They are currently drawing attention to an unintended consequence of the Trump-led efforts to stop many Muslims from coming to the U.S., pointing to a sharp drop in foreign tourism to our nation that imperils jobs and touristic income.
It’s known as the “Trump Slump.” And I know of no reputable travel publication to deny it.
Thus, the prestigious Travel Weekly magazine (as close to an “official” travel publication as they come) has set the decline in foreign tourism at 6.8%. And the fall-off is not limited to Muslim travelers, but also extends to all incoming foreign tourists. Apparently, an attack on one group of tourists is regarded as an assault on all.
As far as travel by distinct religious groups, flight passengers from the seven Muslim-majority nations named by Trump were down by 80% in the last week of January and first week of February, according to Forward Keys, a well-known firm of travel statisticians. On the web, flight searches for trips heading to the U.S. out of all international locations was recently down by 17%.
A drop of that magnitude, if continued, would reduce the value of foreign travel within the U.S. by billions of dollars. And the number of jobs supported by foreign tourists and their expenditures in the United States—and thus lost—would easily exceed hundreds of thousands of workers in hotels, restaurants, transportation, stores, tour operations, travel agencies, and the like.

Nah your a Nazi Mentalfloss said so .My father fought against the Nazis.. 36 missions in a Lancaster over industrial Germany.. he was one of the 50% of Bomber Command who survived the War. I'm against all tyrannical regimes.. and holocausts (like that imposed on the West by abortion). Economic and cultural liberalism has become a predatory, imperial tyranny.. it impoverishes, exploits and enslaves, and its ambitions are global.

Trump has media crying ... all the way to the bank
Donald Trump’s tweet about the media’s being “the enemy of the American people” was a classic distraction — in this case, from questions swirling around his team’s troubling ties with our Russian adversaries. While the FBI, CIA and Senate Intelligence Committee investigate, a few thoughts on how news sources under Trumpian attack should respond.

I think to continue posting inane and insane messages about Trump is both a waste of time and counter productive.
