Re: Equalization panel aims to find fairness for Alberta

listened to an economist on CBC today,
interesting enough this economist stated the wildrose are wasting their time,as this is a federal program and is based on provincial income,Albertans made big incomes.
the scope of information auditing was not mentioned in the article,or did i miss it,this is huge in the design of intentions, the scope of information to be gleaned.
then again the whole initiation of the panel could be used to enable actions or endorsements for the opposition, power can be gained, and further yet those panel experts who are none partisan may have the best deal of all,big money.
if an economist stated having an assessment is fail from the start, this whole ordeal is something to observe.

Considering that the Equalization program requires buy-in from all the provinces, it would seem that it is not exclusively a Federal issue.

Equalization panel aims to find fairness for Alberta

Equalization panel aims to find fairness for Alberta - Calgary - CBC News

Is "equalization of fairness" really an issue? Is it any different from what happens on a individual basis. Joe Blow can go from earning a $100 thousand a year and driving a Cadillac and holidaying in Honolulu to standing in line at the Welfare office! Sh*t happens, we usually come out the other end at some point.

Enbridge CEO says chances of building Northern Gateway this year 'remote'

Enbridge CEO says chances of building Northern Gateway this year 'remote'

CALGARY - The CEO of Enbridge said Friday he doesn't expect to meet a deadline to begin construction of the Northern Gateway pipeline this year and the Calgary-based company will likely seek an extension.

Al Monaco said Enbridge is still working to satisfy the 209 conditions included in its 2014 permit to build the pipeline, as well as firm up commitments with shippers and get more community support.

"Our ability to begin construction before the end of the year is really quite remote at this point," Monaco told investors on a conference call after the company reported its fourth-quarter results.

One condition of the permit requires it to start construction on either the 1,177-kilometre pipeline or a marine terminal in Kitimat, B.C., by Dec. 31 unless the National Energy Board directs otherwise.

Enbridge is assessing what would be needed if it were to apply for a deadline extension, Monaco said.

"We are really in evaluation mode," he said.

Equalization has mostly been polite talk for stealing from the west and giving to the east.

I know what an information systems auditor is. I'm assuming that's what you were groping for, despite that being a bit of stretch for a telemarketer.

your welcome,a laugh is good for the heart,I am glad you had a belly laugh.

I know what an information systems auditor is. I'm assuming that's what you were groping for, despite that being a bit of stretch for a telemarketer.
I do not work systems like computers, etc,i tend to work with design of information,
for instance i would not be the direct telemarketer,my speciality would be the design of telemarketer design, information may be designed to advantage the company, ihave never done this, but this may help you in visualizing what i do and do well.
i tend to specialize in information design of public institutions and sidekicks of same.
i had seen myself working in contracting to social designs such as commissions, inquests, etc
or private companies who are seeking crisis assessments of information design.
I also have some other talents but I am not going to disclose them at this time, maybe later if you are nicer.
i was totally addicted to information design assessment at one time.

Information design is the practice of presenting information in a way that fosters efficient and effective understanding of it. The term has come to be used specifically for graphic design for displaying information effectively, rather than just attractively or for artistic expression

Review of Alberta oilsands monitoring program set for release

Review of Alberta oilsands monitoring program set for release

EDMONTON - The first review of environmental monitoring set up by Alberta and Ottawa in the oilsands region is expected to be released today.

The independent review is to assess how effective the program has been in measuring the impact of industry development. It is also to lay out how well the jointly run program is tracking changes in the area.

The program, funded by $50 million from industry, was set up in 2012 after intense criticism of how the Alberta government was doing the job. It was designed by federal and Alberta scientists and is run by both levels of government.

It was supposed to have been fully implemented by the end of last year, but uncertainties with the program remain.

It lacks involvement from local First Nations, who pulled out in protest over what they say was inadequate attention to their environmental concerns.

Canadian oil production could slow down or freeze altogether, report warns

CALGARY — The International Energy Agency is warning that Canadian oil production could slow down, if not come to a "complete standstill," once projects that are now under construction are completed.

The Paris-based organization released a report today examining oil production forecasts for a number of countries up to 2021.

The agency says heightened environmental concerns, a lack of pipeline access to new markets and the unknown impact of the NDP's electoral victory in Alberta last year are causing energy companies to slow development.

It says the oilsands are expected to add nearly 800,000 barrels a day of production in five years despite high investment and operating costs.

The agency's report says by 2021, Canadian oil output is forecast to average 5.2 million barrels a day, of which bitumen output from Alberta will account for nearly 3.4 million barrels a day.
