Oh crap!! Not you too :p  You must have your own fleet of Pinatas by now:p

For 15 years I lived 6 blocks from this location.. I watched them demolish hundreds of low rentals apartments and displace families to build this stadium.

On my front porch, every time the Texas Rangers played, we watched the fireworks. Arlington Ball Park (or whatever they call it now) is 2 blocks from the Cowboys stadium.

I find NFL fans fascinating. There are firemen on stand by in the parking lot for when somebody knocks over the BBQ and the mesquite sets their truck (or pinata) on fire.

Sounds like some wonderful memories. Good for you. Living in various places is probably the finest of life experiences.

getting serious for a moment.. what do folks think about this:?

“Everybody’s a target; everybody with communication is a target.”
– A senior intelligence official previously involved with the Utah Data Center
In the small town of Bluffdale, Utah, not far from bustling Salt Lake City, the federal government is quietly erecting what will be the crown jewel of its surveillance empire. Rising up out of the desert landscape, the Utah Data Center (UDC) — a $2 billion behemoth designed to house a network of computers, satellites, and phone lines that stretches across the world — is intended to serve as the central hub of the National Security Agency’s vast spying infrastructure. Once complete (the UDC is expected to be fully operational by September 2013), the last link in the chain of the electronic concentration camp that surrounds us will be complete, and privacy, as we have known it, will be extinct.

At five times the size of the U.S. Capitol, the UDC will be a clearinghouse and a depository for every imaginable kind of information — whether innocent or not, private or public — including communications, transactions, and the like. Anything and everything you’ve ever said or done, from the trivial to the damning — phone calls, Facebook posts, Twitter tweets, Google searches, emails, bookstore and grocery purchases, bank statements, commuter toll records, etc. — will be tracked, collected, catalogued, and analyzed by the UDC’s supercomputers and teams of government agents. In this way, by sifting through the detritus of your once-private life, the government will come to its own conclusions about who you are, where you fit in, and how best to deal with you should the need arise.

Infantile poster bashing. But heck that is all you seem to know and contribute here with monotonous regularity.......avoiding the sticky issues that are posted for discussion.

If you don't think the US is imperial , just say so and say why. That is what mature and responsible posters do. thank you.

.

I'm not avoiding sticky issues... you just don't like what I have to say.

Infantile? Monotonous? From the one who posts thread after immature thread of how bad she thinks the USA is.

You are so far from mature Breezy. You have a child's mind. A perpetual whiner and bash another's country incessantly. Clearly you have an insecurity issue.

Those who believe there actually could be world peace without using the biggest stick are completely ignorant or in denial regarding the nature of humans.

Nonsense!

The very fact that you vehemently disagree proves my point. Has there ever been a consensus among a large group of humans regarding a major social or political change without strong disagreement that never descended into physical actions? Please provide proof and i will convert to your ideal.
Heck, at least one of our posters here has alluded to his ability to fight physically when disagreeing with another poster. He is thought to be a liberal progressive i believe.

The Pax Americana you tout is eerily similar in its foreign policy component to the Pax Romana that began to fail c. CE 180.
Pax Romana

True... Rome did fall. Maybe someday America and Canada will fall as well. But there were wars before Rome and after. Just as with the fall of the Roman Empire there were wars and more wars. When the US is gone... there still will be wars.

Sadly we are a warring species... always have been and there is no end in sight.

First of all America was not trying to conquer Iraq they made that clear from the start,
As for the American Empire, it began to fold a long time ago. When reason first went,
Ronald Reagan came to power, and the speed at which the decline has come to is
going to make it nearly impossible to stop. America's Empire was not as most, it was
an internal Empire if you will. Good jobs, plenty of them, quality made goods, the right
mix of regulation and self determination to succeed and so on.
Ronnie changed all that. He bought into the New World Order nonsense and the rest
is a steep decline. First they got rid of the right balance of regulation and the con men
ran roughshod over the land. Then came the I will lower your taxes routine. That was
fine, except that meant there was no funding to repair roads, railways, bridges and other
infrastructure throughout America at the Federal Level. That meant the States, who were
in funding difficulties could not keep up the required maintenance and it fell to local
governments who were already over burdened. Soon education funding and social
programs such as they were, were under funded.
Ever since the low taxes, which didn't save jobs also meant the standard of living over all
declined and there is even less tax money for improvements. The jobs left because the
governments signed onto international deals to stimulate third world economies and provide
larger profit margins for business at the expense of Americans in America.
The result is the great experiment in an open political concept was hijacked by the corporate
elite for profit and nothing more. The worst is still yet to come as the American experience
will become the American nightmare.
As for a physical land mass empire, that was not the goal of America, control economically was
and even that is now in serious doubt.
