I will respond with the words of Jesus. "Render unto Caesar, that which is Caesar's, and to God what is God's".

Meaning that civil government rules also have to be followed, just as God's do.

Clear, plain language which anyone can read and understand. Now, try to tell us that YOUR understanding of the Bible is better than that of Jesus.
Did the mythical Jesus ever read the Bible? We know he couldn't have read the NT, if he actually existed because it seems to have been written after his life. If this critter was real and existed these days would he understand Dr. Seuss's books?

Dr Zeus....he just used S to be more serpent like
I will keep saying "Dr.Seuss" because I like serpents, except for some snivel serpents.

With the S it's still pronounced the same way as the Zed in all corners of the earth except one where things just don't matter what's right or not.

Isn't Horton Hears a Who the quintessential social commentary on religion?
It can be interpreted theologically and might even be popularly interpreted that way. I found it more generally a commentary on tolerance, myself.

OK have it your way then, it's Dr. Zedeuss. :)

Jesus said, "He that rejecteth Me and receiveth not My Words, hath one that judgeth him, THE WORD THAT I HAVE SPOKEN, THE SAME SHALL JUDGE HIM IN THE LAST DAY. For I have not spoken of Myself, but the Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment what I should say and what I should speak.

The Apostle John wrote, "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: FOR SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW." 1 John 3:4.

The Apostle Paul wrote, "For as many as have sinned without law, shall also perish without law: AND AS MANY AS HAVE SINNED IN THE LAW SHALL BE JUDGED BY THE LAW; For not the hearers of the law are just before God, BUT THE DOERS OF THE LAW SHALL BE JUSTIFIED." Rom 2:12,13.

Nobody has or can obey all the laws. Nobody is that perfect. So the bible is written in such a way that nobody will get into heaven. Your god is one sick and twisted Mofo. It must like its own company very much because it designed its creation to fail and will spend eternity by itself. That means you, dear herald, are just as doomed as everybody else. There is no reason for you to continue spreading the word, just live life to its fullest because where you are going ain't gonna be any fun.

........and it was until the moment Jesus resorected from the death and fulfilled all the prophecies regarding theLaw .

Hey, it's Monday already. There has already been one day set aside for you dingbats to spew your idiocy- it's called Sunday. Don't ruin the rest of the week for normal folks. Go find a monastery to hole up in for six days.:lol::lol:

One can reject all that religious dogma and the claim of mystical authority and still be a good human being, though.

... or so it says in the Bible. I still prefer Dr. Zedeuss's books, though. At least Theodor Geisel never claimed scientific or historical accuracy as proponents of the Bible do. lol

By the power of the Holy Spirit within us, we are empowered to obey His Word/His law. But you must have His power within you, that is why you need to be born again: John 3:3-7.

Keep in mind these words of Jesus:

"Render unto Caesar what is Caesars, and unto God what is Gods"

Jesus explicitly tells us to obey the civil law in this injunction. If he says that civil law is to be obeyed, then he must have acknowledged that it covers things that God's law does not.

Who's version of the Bible would be used? Which translation? If we were to impose ALL of the laws in the Bible, then we would all have to be circumcised, we would all follow a purely Kosher diet, women would not be allowed to speak in a church, etc., etc, etc.

When the Spirit of God is within you, He empowers you to obey His Word/His law.

Good thing I don't have this spirit then. I prefer to be a good person on my own volition.

Jesus "was learned in the law", which meant the Pentatuch, or what we call the Old Testament. It was not called a testament at all when he was living, it was just "The Law".
