This is a government born in the eighties out of a movement of a narrow view
of the world, The old Reform Party was an extreme right wing agenda waiting
to happen. In the nineties they realized their agenda would be rejected by a
majority of Canadians. That is when they set about hijacking the weakened
Conservative Party. The only thing they missed was a turncoat and someone
in that movement that would sell the fiscal conservatives out and they found their
man Peter McKay.
What we have is a Reform government committed to the issues of the eighties
even though the problems and issues have moved on. The Reform/Conservative
movement is not really a government at all they operate from an ideology rather
than reality. Taking on Medicare, Pensions, and the dismantling of what is left of
individual rights will hasten their demise. The Harper Government has already
had its day.
I refer them to the locust that come every half century and destroy almost everything
then then Canadians rebuild a social and economic society designed for a broader
range of Canadians only to have this lot of political locusts come again. Not to worry
their time in office is limited to the patients of Canadians and we have nearly run out
of that.
