Your party doesn't care about you or me or lone wolf. The other guys as well. Voting is a waste of everyone's time. Your have a skewed view of what's really going on. If your party gets in, they will break their promises, and everyone will whine, and then we will wait to the next election, and the other guys will get in, they will screw up, everyone will whine, and then we wait to the next election, and somebody else convinces the masses ....etc....just like the complete history of democracy.

Although, what ever happened to that John Cretien guy, he was cool.....

Sarcasm aside Chretien makes Harper look like a 1st year young scout in Germany, I am not sure if you agree with me but both Trudeau as well Chretien both had impeccable style........Charisma all over, many may argue that charisma doesn't make a politician, experience does, experience is the pivotal point to a successful mandate, but if the delivery man is a first year political scout we got troubles ahead should the scout pull a majority......just my take.............

So ... how responsible was it to fund TWO rival trans-continental railroads to compete against the already federally-subsidized Canadian Pacific - then have to rescue both of them from bankruptcy after WW1? How responsible was it to commence with appeasement to a province who now holds an entire nation hostage? How responsible was it to enact an energy province that set another big chunk of this country on a course of separation?

See ... as much fault as we can easily find in the Conservative governments (by whichever flavour they choose to be) we can find just as much to fault your Liberals. Both are siphons to make the rich richer at the expense of the poor. Don't you think it's time for REAL change?

LW, I would like to see the Liberals on the helm, although that is not likely this time around, but the Liberals Governing and a strong watchdog of an opposition, that may be the Canadian political model which can work smoother......LW I am sorry but the Conservatives remind me of a heavy breather in the dark............... scary thought to see the right hide so much behind a half smile………………

As I said, had the Federal Tories at the time gotten off the canvas and perform as a strong opposition, the Liberals may be still governing today with extreme caution. I am not oblivious to the points you are making against the liberals. But power will make the best of moral values go bad........

I met Jack Layton last election, we chatted for about 5-10 minutes. He seems like a pretty down to earth guy. I'm down for giving him a shot. They would probably screw it up though.

I thought you liked guns???????

Layton will ban all handguns and semi-automatics.

Bye-bye gun collection.

Layton won't win so a few extra votes won't matter.

Btw, I saw one of his ads the other day, kind of impressive.

Jack Layton now wants to keep Newfoundland and Labrador on the welfare (I mean equalization) rolls forever, no matter how much money they make from oil revenues.

That's logical, that is.

Well, Sock.... That says it all. Open-minded like bank vault. Open-mouthed like Conservative. You can't sell a message when you're spouting venom.

I think I better correct my statement above, I was in agreement with your comment about Nazis, not saying that the Nazis are my political flavor......for sure they are not..............

Well. I never knew that. A pox on him! I spit in his direction!!!:angryfire::angryfire::angryfire::angryfire:

See! This is why! This is why democracy doesn't work!!!!:angryfire::angryfire::angryfire::angryfire:

You may like one policy, but not other(s)!!!!:angryfire::angryfire::angryfire::angryfire:

Who cares anymore!!! We're just going in a vicious circle here. One group of liars get in, then another group of liars get their chance, then another group.....
Hey..... What if we spent a bunch of money, like during the off season, to have referendums on important issues and junk like that....Just a thought.

What is an ardonist?

Sorry, I'm not an intelectual elite so I don't know.

Aslo, what does the following sentence mean?

"That last from a judgement....from the bench no less."

Ah, even the elevated such as myself make typos......that should have been "arsonist".

Beaudoin, the President of the BDC Bank, was alledgedly asked by Chretien's boys to approve a loan to the owner of a hotel, who happened to be a friend of Chretien, and who owed Jean the Don a whack of money. Beaudoin refused, as the man was insolvent, and a convicted felon. Jean the Don turned the RCMP and every other lever of power he had on the man, destroying his career, his reputation, and his retirement.......and tried to have him jailed.

Beaudoin, luckily, was vetted in court trial, the judge (from the bench) expressing his outrage at the way this honest man had been treated.

BTW, according to the Globe and Mail Saturday, the Conservatives have made 2.9 billion dollars in promises of new spending...........the Liberals have made 4.3 billion dollars in promises of new spending.....

Yet the Conservatives are accused of driving us into the red if elected. Would some Liberal please explain?

BTW, according to the same source, the promises of both the NDP and the Green Party would cost TENS of billions each. Lunatics.

How much spending they authorize is irrelevant.

How much spending versus how much increased (or decreased) revenue is the issue.

You could cut spending by 10 billion, but if you decrease revenues by 11 billion then its worse than if you increased spending by 10 billion but raised revenue by the same.

We have taxes based on percentage of income. Spend as much as you like as long as you fund it by raising my income.

So, what you are saying is that if both parties keep their promises (HA!), then the Liberals will have to raise taxes twice as much as the Conservatives....... :)

Not at all, raising and lowering taxes is irrelevant,

all that matters is how the raise (or lowering) of taxes impacts my take home.

If you cut taxes to 0% for instance, you would be robbing me of money.

As the economy would collapse, I would be out of business and instead of the government taking (im not giving real numbers for obvious reason) 30% of my 70,000 they would be taking 0% of my 0.

Likewise if they raised taxes to spend on services that boosted the economy, I would happily pay 50% of my hypothetical 120,000 rather than 30% of my 70,000.

Raising and Lowering taxes, increasing and decreasing spending, I really don't care about those things, I care about the end result of their actions and how it makes me richer or poorer.

A promise costs jack. It's what they really do when they grab the power that matters.

Hey LW good day to you,
I like your answer on Colpi’s desperate call for an explanation bellow…………..
The truth here is give a Liberal Politician a wallet with $100 and give the Liberal 6 months time and guarantee the Liberal will turn the $100 into $10.000, and no one should doubt that the Liberals will not be able to do this……………..

On the other hand give a Conservative politician a wallet with $100 and also give the Conservative politician 1 year, and at the end of the year the Conservative politician will loose the $100 and will be in the hole for $10.000 still trying to make it work………

Colpi’s quote………………BTW, according to the Globe and Mail Saturday, the Conservatives have made 2.9 billion dollars in promises of new spending...........the Liberals have made 4.3 billion dollars in promises of new spending.....

Yet the Conservatives are accused of driving us into the red if elected. Would some Liberal please explain?

Yes you are correct LW PROMISES MEAN JACK………………………
Traditional history is a great compass to use in determining the fiber of the Conservatives……..the rest is all BS Harper playing with children in some brain washed idiots house………………….that will not cut it…………………The Conservatives are dull and scary…………………..

I have not doubt at all. Unfortunately, the $10,000 will be in the Liberal's pocket, and the withdrawl will come out of my account.
