Could you see a Liberal-NDP-Green-Bloc coalition in the house, with the Conservatives stading across the isle alone?

Or maybe the Conservatives and Bloc sitting across the isle alone?

Of course the Greens might not even win a single seat (though I'm thinking of voting for the Green candidate anyway). This would make it a Liberal-NDP or Liberal-NDP-Bloc coalition, also with a Conservative or Conservative/Bloc opposition.

Could be interesting.

When you look at how well Jack & Stephane have sniped at each other during the campaign so far,
do you think their egos will allow a coalition to last for long at all? If you add together the dollar figures
for the promises that both of them have made, and try to squish that into one united platform, that might
become a tad expensive for a shaky economic time for much of Canada. The parts of Canada that are
doing well economically (currently) and are ready to try and float the boat 'till everyone is doing well would
get hammered by this coalition, even if it falls apart quickly. Speaking of boats, who would steer that one?
I can see the Greens and the Bloc playing well with others, but not the NDP & Liberals with each other...

Another interesting twist could be if, for example, the Conservatives get let's say one or two seats more than the Liberals, but still in a minority, and the Greens et just enough seats to form a majority alliance with the Liberals. Another possibility, less likely, would be a Liberal-Bloc Alliance, or would it?

Just because the Conservatives have the single largest number of seats will not guarantee that they will form a government if other parties decide to form a larger alliance.

I think it could happen.

Traditionally, who is most likely to get off their backsides and take the time to go and vote seeing
as 35%-40% of the voting population can't seem to be bothered? I'm not talking about demographics
like age or economic status, but purely by party affiliation...It's one thing to answer a poll, and another
to actually go and vote.

To add some spice to the mix, there are about a million students eligible to vote and the music channel
has had some very bizarre commercials (about marking your territory on Oct.14th) which might lessen
voter apathy in that age group. I believe their is a quiet segment of firearm owners that is much larger
than a gun registry would lead anyone to believe who will come out to protect their personal property.
Gun owners equal how many millions of Canadians? I still see a Conservative minority, but it might be
closer to a majority than anyone is expecting...including Harper.

Hey Ron good day to you, nice Christmas wish list.............
The gun owners will never be enough to help the Cons get in...........
The Cons are on record being a bunch of vindictive pricks and bigots... I can be politically correct, but when it comes to speaking out about scum bags pretending to be good people, I will lead the pack. A scum bag is a scum bag whether you dress him in silk or gold.

Harper has the secret agenda were he will hurt Canada............................That is the record of the Cons..........................

Any one remember Harper last week he picked a small stumble from Dion’s interview and tried to make it an election issue that Dion is not fit to be the Prime Minister` of Canada, while Harper in on record twice plagiarizing on major speeches…. Speeches that were made for other people but happened to be very opportune for the copy cats to use them…………………Walter is that sit well with you??????? Ye we will get a Conservative majority and Canada will get screwed by the Cons once again………….

My "wish list" was a way to show that nothing is over 'till it's over. More students might vote due
to MTV2 commercials (very bizarre...about marking your territory) and I don't know who they'll
predominantly vote for. The encouragement is to go and vote, and it doesn't preach for a specific
party. Truly I believe there are more gun owners than anyone would believe also.

Going back to the MTV2 commercials, I couldn't find a link but I did look for one to post here.
I've seen a couple of them, and in each case it's a young woman squatting to pee and the flow is
going (one in a parking lot, and one inside of a convenience store) with an announcer stating that
"There's a better way to mark your territory. Vote on Oct. 14th!"

Voter turn-out might be lower one the day following a long weekend, and it's harvest time out
here on the Prairies, and we just got 4-5" of snow overnight ourselves which might affect voter
turn-out, and God only knows what other factors will put off people from casting a ballot. At
least 30% of the population couldn't be bothered voting most of the time anyway. This may lead
to some results that are not predicted very accurately in advance. That's where I'm going.
Hapy Thanks Giving Socrates.

The absolute champion vindictive prick in the office of Canadian PM in the last 50 years was Jean Chretien.....he used the RCMP to destroy the career and reputation of the ex-president of the BDC because he refused to lend money to Jean's corrupt buddy.

So.....those who live in glass houses......

A CPC minority, I believe.

I hope I am wrong, we need a CPC majority to get a few things done........

The economy is in a mess.....no time for carbon taxes or big spending.....both of which Dion is commited to....unbelieveably, Dion has promised more new spending than Layton of the NDP!

According to the latest figures accumulated by the Globee and Mail.......

The looney Greens have promised 22.5 Billion dollars of new spending annually, paid for by a carbon tax and a raise in the GST.

The less looney Liberals have promised 13.6 Billion dollars in new spending annually, paid for by a carbon tax......

The NDP have promised 12.9 billion in new spending annually, paid for by cancelling tax reductions to corporations.........

The CPC has promised only 2.2 billion in new spending annually.

Now, all the "left" parties want to spend, spend, spend, and increase our taxes, taking more of the available monies to run their little pet projects.......driving away companies, taking cash out of the private sector.

Only the CPC promises fiscal sanity.

Personally, I like spending my own money more than handing it over to others to spend for me.

The choice is clear....if your concerns are primarily economic in nature, only the Conservatives are competent.

BTW, it is damned scary when the NDP put forward a more fiscally prudent platform than that of the Liberals......strange indeed.

I thought I'd read that the CPC intended to increase military spending by 200 billion dollars. Of course it could be scaremongering, but when we consider that he was in favour of going into Iraq, supports expansion in the North, etc., it seems reasonable. I would need a reliable sourse though, and a straightforward promise and answer. How much would a Conservative majority spend on the military?

How much would he spend on the infrastructure....

Last night mysteriously in an area in Toronto, all the Conservative signs were vandalized, and oddly liberal signs put up in their place. I guess the liberals must be getting worried and will resort to anything to get elected...

Ridiculous.

Military spending in Canada is less than 20 billion dollars annually. A lot less.

The entire yearly budget is less than 200 billion.

Happy thanks giving to you Colpy, Jean Chretien did not live a legacy of bribe money in brown bags and no declaration of the brown bags to Revenue Canada.........
That speaks volumes on the fiber of morality between lying Brina and Jean Chretien.............It will take 50 Mulroney's and 50 Harper's to make one Jean Chretien the PM who got 3 back to back majority and went out with a clean revenue Canada tax bill.
The Conservatives are about closet dealing and to prov that today, Harper in the last two days of the campaign he suspended interviews with the media, any idea why he did that? Very simple that is what a closet control freak does.......
If Canadians send Harper on a majority this time around, they will be in for an irreversible 4 year doom for Canadian.. Mulroney had Canadians run like pigs on the way to the slaughter house..... Or` remember the Mulroney dolls with the roap around the neck.

Here is a clip on Lying Brian....................Enjoy.........................Analysis and commentary with a political economy slant.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't subtracting 50 billion dollars in corporate welfare free up more than enough capitol to cover the cost of treating people like people? I mean ... those corporations think like Harper. They're cut from the same cloth. If they can't run their corporations with what they have, why would anyone believe Harper is capable of running a country?
