A battery of seven neuropsychological tests was administered initially to all subjects and a parallel test battery was administered 6 weeks thereafter. Significant differences between the cannabis-dependent group and the two control groups were obtained initially on the Benton visual Retention Test (F[2,24] = 6.07) and the Wechsler Memory Scale Prose Passages (F[2,23] = 7.04). After 6 weeks of supervised abstention from intoxicants, subjects in the cannabis-dependent group showed some significant improvement on the Wechsler Memory Prose Passages score and on the Benton Visual Retention Test; however, the improvement failed to achieve statistical significance. We concluded that cannabis-dependent adolescents have selective short-term memory deficits that continue for at least 6 weeks after the last use of marijuana.

This is not true. No potential anti-cancer experimental compound offered by a pharmaceutical company is ever approved to treat cancer patients if it showed no significant anti-cancer effect in clinical trials.

There's no articles, just praise of pot smoking supplied with the web links linking to nothing.

If you want to discuss this issue on the basis of scientific evidence, you need to take a closer look at the PubMed portal, and find all sorts of reliable sources there.

You sound like you work in our joke of a "health" industry. The pharmaceutical companies have been trying desperately to demonize pot as a medicine for 70 or 80 years. Why, because it works and they cannot patent it. It makes all their synthetic drugs looks useless at best and deadly at worst. Sorry to inform you, but no one has ever died from smoking pot but thousands die every year from prescription drugs. You want to believe their lies, that is your problem.

Eat well, keep fit, smoke dope to prevent cancer, die anyway. Big deal. I personally don't care what does or doesn't cause cancer or what does or doesn't prevent it, I stopped being interested when I heard that peanut butter gives lab rats cancer. Everything gives lab rats cancer. I'm going to eat, drink, and smoke what I like and enjoy it, because I know no matter what I do I'm not getting out of here alive and my habits might make a difference of only a few percent in the number of years I have here. Quality, not quantity...

Here is why people who smoke pot on a regular bases should refrain from smoking their weed with rolling papers, did you know? that one rolling paper is 100% natural paper - 80% cellulose, 14% glycerine, 6% water,
burning glycerine can be really dangerous. Burning glycerine produces acrolein. Acrolein was used as a chemical weapon in WW1 !!

Paper is what causes lung problems on people who roll tobacco or weed, not the weed it self.

May I ask you one simple question?

I wish you good health, but let's hypothesize a little bit. Suppose you get cancer, what are you going to do in terms of trying to cure it? Are you going to resort to smoking pot and hoping the disease will go away, or you visit an oncologist who will put you on chemo, etc.?
