Trump says 3 Americans held in North Korea have been released

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that three Americans held in North Korea have been released and are on their way back home.

"I am pleased to inform you that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in the air and on his way back from North Korea with the 3 wonderful gentlemen that everyone is looking so forward to meeting. They seem to be in good health," Trump tweeted. He added that Pompeo had a "good meeting" with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and said a "date & place set" for a meeting between

It is China who is advising North Korea .... all the "Thanks" should be given to China.

The reason that China is directing Kim's every move is because China is not quite ready yet to confront American hegemony in the area. I am quite certain that North Korea will call for De-Americanization of Korea in return for De-Nuclearization.

Yet another salty dawg... OppDig all bent because Trump got it done!

China has been next to Korea for centuries and was never able to control them. The Kim family has been eating China's lunch since 1945.

ART OF THE DEAL baby!

Good to hear Trump has the N. Korea problem resolved!
WEll,it is not quite RESOLVED yeet. But the summit planned is reason for hope that something constructive will come out of it. So far so good. And Certainly better than childish provocative name calling.

Who knows......Kim and Donald might find they have a lot in common.........and this could be a positive towards working out something positive and lasting. To quote Trump: "we will see"

These talks are going to go on for years and years. I think the talks with Iran went on for 6 or more years and Iran did not already have the bomb like North Korea does. Trump will be long gone and the talks will still be continuing.

The media is parading this "Quick Fix" talk in an effort to suggest that America is to remain at the center of the universe. It is a pack of lies. The media are all suggesting that these negotiations will reap rewards overnight basically. I keep telling everybody, that Obama and Trump are only "Managing" the decline of the U.S. empire.

China and Russia are going to guarantee North Korea security and China will totally finance an enterprise zone or a special economic zone within North Korea in order to uptick the economic standards within the country. They will need 20 years to complete it and the "Cult" mentality will need to be allowed to die off before any real unification takes place.

The U.S. will soon be left out of all serious negotiations. It will be China and Russia who will run the show.

South Korea is more loyal to North Korea than to the U.S.. The end result will be de-nuclearization in trade for the removal of all U.S. military assets in South Korea.

You make some interesting and good points. That Quick fix mentality is in full view at the moment. and the art of the deal lcult are enamoured with the instant gratification approach. This mindset does not see beyond their noses.

Cultures like China and the Koreas are vastly different.........and build on and learn from their history and tradition.......while having a long term vision for the future. So vastly different from American culture and thinking.

That second paragraph is very difficult for a great many people to understand or accept even with the progress of that decline meeting the eye every day. The day is not long off when that power mad and insane nation will be known to the future as the Murderous Evil US Empire. Its book of victims will be thick indeed, with its own people filling the last sad chapter.

North Korea details plans to dismantle nuclear test site

Pyongyang pledges to blow up tunnels and block entryways to its nuclear testing ground and invites international journalists to watch.

The announcement, by the Ministry of Foreing Affairs as reported by state news agency KCNA, comes a day after North Korea said it would no longer carry out unannounced missile tests or other activites that put flights at risk, according to a UN agency.

So far so good. They are making constructive moves. Don't think we can expect them to give up all their "bargaining" chips......

If Trump can pull this off, he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.
Let's not be hasty. It will depend on BOTH parties KEEPING their commitments..........and not falling back to their own versions of unpredictable conduct.

this is not a magic show........it is reality.

Isn't it interesting that BOTH "dear leaders " are playing it to the hilt.

Playing a hunch....... I kinda think this will work..........or at least make a good start.

time will tell. Not to worry about cudos to Trump........he will grant himself PLENTY of them.........as is his style. That is just him. Because he does this ...... giving him credit ..even when due becomes meaningless.
