you should update Harper cause he's spending/spent a brazillion dollars in preparing Canada's submission before the UN... as have all other countries interested in asserting their sovereignty claims, particularly as relates to sea-bed claims on extended under-water shelves/ridges. Ultimately, the results of the UN decision-making process will reflect upon International Law.

as for the North Pole, as much as Harper regularly trots it out as an iconic symbol of "Canada's North"... it belongs to Denmark and this latest process will only reaffirm that: The North Pole is a distraction
Although Canada has rights over extensive areas of seabed elsewhere in the Arctic Ocean, it has no basis for a claim at the North Pole. This is because international law uses the “equidistance” principle to delimit maritime boundaries. According to this principle, boundaries between adjacent coastal states are drawn along a line, every point of which is an equal distance from the respective shores.

In 2012, Canada and Denmark used the equidistance principle to delimit a boundary 200 nautical miles into the Lincoln Sea, north of Canada’s Ellesmere Island and Denmark’s Greenland.

Although the boundary does not extend beyond 200 nautical miles, the principle of equidistance will serve as the basis for an eventual agreement separating rights beyond this point.

Like it or not, the North Pole falls on the Danish side of the equidistance line – it will never be Canadian.

That reminds me of a story I heard, Harper was eating his wheaties while getting his morning briefing from Baird; Baird "There was trouble in Ukraine, 14 govt troops and 28 separatist terrorists were killed last night"; Harper: "John, pass me a piece of toast will you". Baird: "16 Palistinians were killed and 149 others injured by the Israeli army taking out a terrorist cell"; Harper: "John, pass over that jug of oj". Baird: "severe rioting in Sudan left 45 dead"; Harper: "More wheaties John"; Baird: " and finally, 2 Brazillion soldiers were killed in major accident..." Harper, drops his spoon, his face goes white, he's speechless, Baird: " Mr Prime Minister, what is it, whats wrong?" Haper, "OMG, that's just awful", Baird, "awful? why, what do you mean?" Harper, "John have you no compassion? My god man! And John, exactly how many soldiers are in a brazillion"?

Northern Ontario,
I'd like to see what all those brave liberal sheeple in the forum would do if bullets would start flying around them with no firearm to protect themselves...
Hell ....I'm willing to bet most of them would pee themselves and hide even if they had a gun....

"pee and hide"? What would Steve do?

Harper's got a weak bladder, particularly at G20 meetings and trade missions!

Well since the Reformists thought it wise to decimate our military, likely the only thing the liberals, NDP, and Conservatives will be able to do is pee on the enemy, thank goodness we will still have the Reformists to talk tough at them.

We all do it ever single day.
No "we" don't.

I see people go on silently after being stepped on, pushed aside, or otherwise offended in some way, every day.

On the world stage, between leaders, we see lip service paid to issues for the camera's, there were no camera's there for Harper that day. That was a shot fired from the hip. He gets credit for that. I know how hard it is for people like yourself to give credit where credit is due.

Ironic, isn't it?
If you look up Irony, it says see waldo.

Thank you Stephen Harper!

Ummm...

The Russian leader had probably already decided before even arriving in Australia...
Derp, lolz.

People still seem to have this belief that Harper pulled off some magical thing that will change the world forever.
Only Flossy thinks that, and like you, he's not all there either.

And yet will still end up doing nothing in the end because he's a chicken sh*t who only has words and no action.

But hey, I suppose his so-called one liner at Putin excuses everything else he and his party has done over the years, it also magically unifies the nation and makes us all want to hold hands and it also somehow magically stopped global warming.

Yes, let's all praise and bow before the glorious leader for telling Putin to get out of Ukraine. He sure showed him

Actually I don't. I already know some members in here, like you, would neg rep anything someone says that doesn't shine a light up Harper's azz and may sound a bit harsh towards his real threat level.

I was just beating you to the punch before I even posted my reply.

One could also look at what I said as a reflection on how predictable some people in here are.

You are so full of it......Did you know hatred doesn't get you anywhere? Unbelievable!
