[quote} They are nuts in the States. The head of the NRA went on television last week calling for the arming of all teachers in the classroom.{unquote}

Who would want to live in a country where all school teachers were armed????

those dead children could be alive for xmas if at least 2 people in that school had been trained to use
a gun for defense, and
were able to at least defend themselves, and not be totally helpless.

i'm sure those parents would have been very grateful and thankful to have their children with them at
home, and not 6 ft under in a coffin. They will never be the same again.

And these two people would have shot the student with the guns? I don't think that is a solution. Airport type X-ray equipment and
armed guards, possibly police, who would have blocked the guns from getting into the school in the first place.

No, those dead children would be alive for Christmas if the nut job that shot them hadn't had access to the guns in the first place.

The problem is, the pro gun owners are nuts too and can't understand the real issue here.

Go back in time - Bill Clinton also stated the very same thing.

Yeah, we do understand the issue.

The issue is protecting children in schools, while maintaining the rule of law and constitutional rights..

The idiots are all blaming inanimate objects.

Maybe.

Or he might have used a can of gasoline and a match and killed even more.

Or blown the place up, as happened in the worst case of school murder in US history.

I don't pretend to know the unknowable.

What I do know is ANY move towards gun control in the USA is futile, a waste of time, and probably unconstitutional.

So, time to search out other options.......

But putting armed Guards in schools is ludicrous.
Strict gun laws are needed.

Your crystal ball is cracked. You don't know this at all. Quit making excuses and admit that you are wrong.

The Constitutional right to bear arms would need to be clarified by the US SC
Also a constitutional amendment once passed and sent to the States has no time limit. Once it meets the minimum required to change the constitution it is then changed.
And if I recall correctly once a State passes it they cannot revoke that in a future vote.

You are really not very smart.

There are at LEAST 270 MILLION guns in the USA. That includes over 3 million AR 15s, the best selling rifle in the USA. That also includes tens of millions of other semi automatics, and probably a hundred million if you include semi-auto handguns.

The people have a constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

I know, you argue they do not, and you are wrong. Even the SCOTUS has recognized the individual right to keep arms. However that is irrelevant anyway, because most of them BELIEVE they have that right.......

Therefore masses of the people will not surrender the weapons they believe they have a constitutional right to keep.

The guns are not going away.

Access to firearms will remain very easy in the USA.

So....other solutions need to be found.

The best solution is to make damned sure the good guys have teeth when they need them.

Simple as that.

Oh, for the people that think the Americans are about to surrender, or register, or comply with any new gun law:

Brazil is recognized as 2nd world or 'developing' economy.. go to the barrios of Sao Paulo and you'll see why.. it is a country with a seething underclass that is not participating at all in Brazil's economic boom.. in fact are fueling it in sweatshops and Maquilladoras .. by way of Free Trade.
.

China is too. See how ridiculous that is?

lmao An AR-15 chambered in aught 50? That's freakin hilarious. 30 round clip in aught 50? Even more hilarious. Thompson came out with a submachine gun chambered for .45 caliber handgun ammo. He made the magazine rotary because the usual 50 round magazine would have reached down to his freakin knees. Clips don't come in rotary and doesn't usually hold very many rounds because they are not spring-loaded or stagger the rounds.
Ignorance ain't bliss - it's comedy.

.

LG... you have to understand the audience he is reaching out to. They aren't very bright so they can use whatever numbers, combination of numbers they wish.

To them a .45 or .50 cal round would absolutely fit into an AR-15, just as easy as a 5.56MM would. Heck I bet they could fit a 30MM Explosive Tip round in an AR-15. It just doesn't matter.

..... which is that some nutbar got his mitts on guns and shot people. Period. He could just as simply gotten some ANFO strapped to himself and blown people up. Get rid of the nutbars and EVERYone could be armed to the teeth and no-one would be harmed.
It ain't the guns, it's certain people that are the problem and it isn't all the "pro gun owners" that can't see that or are nuts, it's also some of the anti-gun ignoramuses that can't see the real problem.

You know as well as I do that this sort of behavior is the retards way out.
I never said it was a valid retort. I said it doesn't stifle free speech.

I fully understand that this is a mental health issue.

It's you and the other anti nutters that can't grasp that.
