So long as that school allows Bingo in the evening....I don't see any kind of problem...![]()
Since it's not a Catholic school, there is the possibility that it would.

I never said it was.
I can't find any references to "religious" groups being given space, after hours to hold bingo, in public schools. So long as that school allows Bingo in the evening....I don't see any kind of problem...![]()

Yep.I misread then terms of engagement - By terms then what is good for one religion is good for all?
Just one more reason not to convert to Islam. Women are not chattel. As to Muslims separating men & women during prayer that is part of their religion, it is up to them to change that. A reformation that Europe went thru was bloody as hell.
Misogyny. If they did in his time why did it change?
Would be?;-) ....or would Not be?
Sorry Karrie, can't agree.
The non Christians have set the terms of engagement.
We should abide them, one and all.
would NOT be. Bingo is a form of gambling, therefore it is not allowed to be used for fund raising like it was in the past.
I can't find any references to "religious" groups being given space, after hours to hold bingo, in public schools.
I can several references to a good number of Catholic schools, being used, after hours, for bingo.
would NOT be. Bingo is a form of gambling, therefore it is not allowed to be used for fund raising like it was in the past.
Which ones!? Don't tell the church... eep!
Why not? Isn't abiding by the demands of those that believe differently than the ancestral religious foundations of our fair country, the most sincere way of saying welcome? No. We shouldn't.
It's been explained. Christian services in public schools, no. Muslim services in public, yes.Where we see an injustice we should say as much, and explain why.
Somebody declared war?We shouldn't just sit silently by because the people who declared the war and set the terms don't like that we don't think like them in all manners.
How is one rule of law, fro all, being ubersecularist? And we shouldn't have to sterilize ourselves before going out in public so that we don't offend their ubersecularist sensibilities.
I agree. If a religious person wants to wear a cross or say a prayer it should not preclude them from accessing the public infrastructure their taxes have paid for.
No it shouldn't. That's the rules. Non Christians have made that abundantly clear. And where it's reasonable for said infrastructure to accomodate its community, it ought to.
And a whole lot less hypocrisy. This country could use with a little less sterilization.
In and around the greater Toronto area. I have no idea how the articles are, I just googled, looking for references.Which ones!? Don't tell the church... eep!
Somebody declared war?
But that is nothing like removing a specific group from regular classes, and giving the religion access to a space, no other religion has the same access to.
And a whole lot less hypocrisy.
In and around the greater Toronto area. I have no idea how the articles are, I just googled, looking for references.
You said 'terms of engagement', I followed your metaphor.
I agree, we could use less hypocrisy. If the Muslims can pray in school, so can everyone else. If people use the space responsibly, what's the issue? It's not class prayer, it's not curriculum, it's not coming out of the public coffer, what's the issue?
would NOT be. Bingo is a form of gambling, therefore it is not allowed to be used for fund raising like it was in the past.
what's your point with the link? The city of Toronto issues gaming permits...so what?
No, you took it an extra step. You said 'terms of engagement', I followed your metaphor.
Then I hope we'll see several billions of dollars in class action suits levied against the TDSB, for discrimination for the past 20 years.I agree, we could use less hypocrisy. If the Muslims can pray in school, so can everyone else.
It isn't reasonable, when only one religion is allowed to do it.If people use the space responsibly, what's the issue?
It's on public property, during classes, which means the tax payer is paying for hydro, and the facility. It's not class prayer, it's not curriculum, it's not coming out of the public coffer, what's the issue?
I told you karrie, the issue is that they are MUSLIM. Regardless of what people here say, that IS the whole problem. The comments made by protesters about suicide bombers etc is the proof in the pudding.
Besides Goober nailing you square on the head....I told you karrie, the issue is that they are MUSLIM. Regardless of what people here say, that IS the whole problem.
