No doubt... There is no amount of retribution, therapy or consolation that will ever 'take back' that nightmare for that 7 year old girl... But that being the case, maybe setting the societal bar to barbaric lows might just make some of these perverts think twice prior to victimizing another young girl.

... I still can't even get my head around the entire idea of perpetuating this kind of heinous action on a child... 7 years old for God sake, truly makes me sick and not to mention, quite violently angry.
Pretty much the same here. I know if the girl was one of mine, I'd do my best to see the guy live a long, painful, and extremely miserable life.

I don't think the government would have any problem garnering support for life sentences for these monsters.

Hard to say. Some might argue the case for the economic cost of life-long incarceration along with other arguments against it.

Anything beyond that, productive work for instance, to me is just gravy. Let's get some sensible sentencing in place first!

It might be gravy, but if combined with a life-long sentense, it would likely garner more political support on economic grounds.

Put more into preventing monsters.......

Howso? A life sentence could discourage some and make them think twoce about it. We already teach them in school about underage sex laws so they're well aware that it's illegal. What other recommendation?

We aren't allowed to have opinions about stuff of less severity?

Lol, of course we are.

Sheesh, a gal can't have an all fired up righteous Saturday morning rant? ;)

No doubt some would.

I'll take 'em on one at a time if I have to, lol.

Sure, but gotta walk before you can run right? That's all I was saying really. We have to get from 5 years to life sentences first.

That's what makes me so angry. The 'penalty' that is doled-out doesn't appear to have any form of similar impact on the perp as it had and will have for the rest of this girl's life.

Does limiting cash in 7-11 prevent robberies?

You're right... But maybe arming the employees to the teeth might make someone think twice

It might actually be the other way around. Once we add economically productive labour, then a life sentense becomes more palatable owing to the reduced economic cost.

You know what? My only real incentive is to protect vulnerable children from those that we know are capable of violently assaulting them. So honestly, whatever the hell it takes I will get behind.

Really? You're really that incapable of any real thought? Do you actually think that people like this even consider the legal ramifications of what they are doing? Give your head a shake and maybe 2 or more brain cells will connect and start to work.

Agreed.

There might be the odd exception.

By the way, are you always so lovable?

As opposed to a longer lifetime of therapy?

Yep. And then on top of that, the 'penalty' is a pretty foul insult to the girl, her family and friends, and the rest of Canadians.

My favorite punishment for this would be to take him to the shed, put his pecker in the vice and give him a rusty tin can lid. Then set the shed on fire.

The thing that gets me so much is when you consider the fact that the founder of Megaupload will probably spend much more time in prison than this deadbeat.

Yes, we really have our priorities straight these days. Afterall, child abuse only affects one child, but piracy affects everybody.

Or lock him naked in a shed infested with starving rats and grease his pecker up with bacon fat.

Hey, profit is vastly more important than people, you know. We built society to be like that.

You and TS have no imagination.

A catheter is inserted into the urethra and then a gelling agent containing glass crystals is injected into the bladder. The agent gels and the glass fragments begin to decimate the bladder.
