DUSTIN "BEAR" RENSCHLER
1996 - 2009
Dustin Garnieth Renschler, beloved son of Marina and Brad, and brother to Shelby, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 5, 2009, at the age of 13 years. Dustin was born on March 16, 1996 in Bow Island, to proud parents, Brad and Marina and a little brother to Shelby. Dustin endured a life of medical woes and faced his challenges with sparkling spirit. His personality shone through his eyes and was adored by those around him. “Bear” was quite a prankster and liked to maintain his silence until his sister, Shelby wanted to watch TV. It was then his silence was broken and he would make his presence known by being loud - and then he would laugh! He was an affectionate young man and loved to cuddle. He would pull you near and hold on tight. He liked to tease and would often pinch while paying close attention to your hair to pull. Needless to say, while he loved animals, they showed their patience as he would pull on their ears and such. His roughhousing didn’t end with the family pet, his dad was also on the receiving end when “Bear” would demonstrate his newly learned moves from watching wrestling. Dustin loved life and never complained of adversity, even following surgeries. Like his picture, he remained happy and enjoyed the company of those around him. His memory will be cherished by his parents, Brad and Marina and his sister, Shelby; grandpa Garny Renschler and grandma Lu Robertson; uncle Mike (Amber) Renschler, auntie Tracey (Terry) Gardner, uncle Doug Smith, auntie Wanda Nord (Boyd), auntie Sam Gran, uncle Rob Robertson and auntie Patty Robertson as well as numerous cousins and other relatives. He was predeceased by his grandma, Joan Renschler, grandpa, Jim Robertson, grandpa Oly Pelltier, grandpa Wyman Campbell and ‘Harley Pup’. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects and visit with the family at Marina’s home, 317 - 4th Street West, at liesure from Sunday, November 8, 2009 to Tuesday morning, November 10, 2009. A Celebration of Dustin’s life, filled with music, will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 139 - 2nd Ave. West, Bow Island on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Sheila McLeod officiating.
