On the contrary. I support immigration to Canada and multiculturalism within limits. Many people from all over the world have skills and knowledge that would add to Canada. These girls are foreign students who flunked out. Sorry but they didn't make the grade.

I support Canada giving foreign students the opportunity to learn in Canada and if they graduate and get a job, they can stay. If they flunk out they go home. Hopefully most of them will go home and and make a contribution to society.

Meanwhile millions of highly qualified and skilled people are better immigration candidates.

How far right whacko of you... how tea party of you.

Is it Conservative or Liberal want ones that can be taxed and if they can be taxed for working and for spending while PAYING for an education at a Canadian University off campus instead of just on campus?

I think in the end it comes down to, "Did these two have S.I.N.#'s & thus the ability
to pay income taxes in Canada?" That's most likely the punchline here.

They have temporary cards that they issue to foreign workers that start with a 9 and have an expiry date. It's up to an employer to collect the SIN for everyone they hire. If they didn't have SIN's then Walmart wouldn't have hired them.

Students face deportation for Walmart mixup
By KRISTY BROWNLEE and LISA MRAZEK, QMI Agency

Two University of Regina students from Nigeria have been hiding in a church for months to avoid deportation for unwittingly working at Walmart without the proper permits.
Ihuoma Amadi, 21, and Victoria Ordu, 20, have attended the school for three years on a scholarship. Last year, the pair worked at the store for two weeks, but according to Citizenship and Immigration Canada, international students can't be employed off campus without a work permit.
"It was an honest mistake. They want a second chance. There are better measures that could have been used rather than the ultimate punishment, which is deportation," said Kay Adebogun, vice-president of the Canadian Association of Immigration Consultants, who is representing them pro bono.
The students said they quit immediately when university staff told them the rules. Later, Canadian Border Services Agency officers arrested them and they were scheduled to be deported June 19.

FFS, can the government ever do anything right? Border services arrest them and how many individuals with foreign convictions are currently drawing out the appeals process?

I wonder, does bureaucracy draw the stupid or does it make people stupid?

And yes, I know that technically it's against the rules but for goodness sakes, use a little reasoning and sense when determining whether to arrest someone. But no, straight to deportation.
Hon, this is typical CIC BS. If you're some sleazy, malevolent, conniving, worthless pile of dung from another country, you can stay here for decades. If you're an honest, hard-working, and useful human being that made a simple mistake, they nab you and persecute you.

The above description is that of an easy target that probably won't fight back (appeals, etc)... Bureaucrats can look effective and like they're doing their job if they prey on people like this.

Investigating people like this result in much report writing and a lot of extra work that cuts into coffee time.... Not worth the extra work in the eyes of the bureaucrat

You're right. That's why it's important to go public with stories like this. Similar to the Korean family on the east coast that were allowed to stay here beyond their visa (or whatever documentation it was) build a business, become part of a community for 10 years, put a son into college then were told they were going to be deported. Lot's of press and, like magic, an exception was made.

Petros, I agree with your points. But you've made the case that Saskatchewan should be allowed to have more immigrants. Once they come to SK, how do you make them stay?

I think you are confusing criminal with felon. All felons are criminals, but not all criminals are felons. It depends on the severity of the criminal offense. Criminals can be guilty of misdemeanors (minor crimes) or felonies (serious crimes of varying degrees).
You seem to be confusing Canada for an episode of Law&Order.

To be a felon, you have to be guilty of a felony.

Canadian law doesn't use the term felony.

In Canada it's an indictable offence.

Things like speeding tickets are summary conviction offence.

It disappoints me that Wal*Mart Regina had to let go of it's two smartest employees.

It's literally my backyard and I certainly don't givea **** and they never "took our jobs". There are nearly 3000 vacant positions in a city of 250,000 with probably the lowest unemployment rate in north america.

Canadians are too afraid to get cold for a couple weeks of the year.

Dey took er jobs!
