I don’t defend the Liberals on Afghanistan. Actually, I wouldn’t know what the current position of the Liberals are until they pick a new leader. If they decide to continue with the Afghan mission as in the current military policy, I would highly disagree with them on it. I’ll see about that when they pick the new leader.
The extension that Harper committed our troops on is by the way, hurting our military. I do know people in the military. We don’t have the numbers currently to maintain the extension.
If you follow the news that could mean extended tours which might not be a problem to a soldier who doesn’t have a family he/she wants to get home to. There is even talk about looking into people who don’t even have the trades required for infantry duty. That could mean looking at the navy, truck drivers, etc. and having to re-train them for being on the front line. Personally I think something is going wrong in the planning of military policy if you start having to put the guy who trade it was to drive military trucks to do patrolling. At worst, having the cook cover your back.
Moreover, depending on how desperate the Canadian Military becomes in having to fill those numbers you could end up seeing a lot of people in the reserves putting in a release which will hurt the numbers even more.
That aside, this is a discussion forum. People more or less expect to read something that shows someone has something to say with their brain — regardless of whether they agree or disagree with points of view. What you put on here sometimes isn’t even discussion. It’s a kind of sub-stupid comedy slide show.
What else can I say about that? There is really no point you are making in the forum topic posting pictures of men in diapers other than to hurl insults or to show the world you’re like a teenager with photoshop. And if you really think I’m all that wounded by these antics, you are even more of an idiot than I gave you credit for.
