Plenty of folks from Gopherland & the Big Apple do the same thing every year because Canada's socialized medical system is so much better than ours. Perhaps now with the ACA this won't happen so much anymore. But we'll see ....

We can afford to pay for Israel's health care coverage every year. But we sure as hell cannot afford another 45,000 dead per year in a Republican created holocaust that has killed over a million people in the past 20+ years.
You are also paying for Iraq's and Afghanistan's medical care. Something the right wingers think Americans shouldn't have. Aren't Americans as good as the Afghans and Iraqi's?

For the record i signed up for Obamacare (What's referred to as Platinum Level) last night and I am saving $110 a month.
How does your deductible compare to what it was before? Are you signed up for services you'll never need? Did you want to leave you previous insurer?

Everybody else (including Canadians) feel socialized health care is best. It works in Iraq, Afghanistan, for the Fortune 500 company employees, Israel, and we as taxpayers for it.

Smiles everyone! Smiles!

Woman Hailed by President as Obamacare Success Story Now Can't Afford Obamacare | The Weekly Standard

Obama cites her PERSONALLY and by name as a success story... days later...she finds out she will be getting $0.00 in subsidies. She is a single mom with no health insurance. The Democrat Party War on Women and Children continues.

They had this woman on NPR last night as well! Oh what a shame! Pay up Jessica.

I love how many think they are going to get so much in subsidies that they won't notice a thing. Think again!

Jessica now says she is not getting insurance. Oh yes you are Jessica...yes you are. You voted for him girl and you just "mandated" yourself. The IRS WILL get it's pound of flesh from you... bank on it girl. lol@u!

And just to remind anyone... this is the Individual Mandate. The Employer Mandate comes out next year...

From the ACA ...

• Sec. 412 (p. 272) says that employers must provide a "qualified plan" for their employees and pay 72.5% of the cost, and a smaller share of family coverage, or incur an 8% payroll tax. Small businesses, with payrolls from $500,000 to $750,000, are fined less.

I bet the tards were wishing there still was a shutdown eh? That was a great distraction.

Actually, enrollment is now picking up:

Americans Like Obamacare Where They Can Get It : The New Yorker

The article states that Minnesota is expected to exceed its initial target in enrollments and that is in keeping with a radio report I heard this morning. Hopefully, this will continue now that the glitches have been largely cleared out.

Wow you are guzzling that kool-aid!

Okey dokey here goes my story
After having a needle biopsy on that large growth on my thyroid, it was decided that surgery was necessary. So Here in BC at the time we paid $12.00 a day for a private room at the hospital (because at that time I didn't know about ear plugs)They went in and removed my thyroid as far as I knew. I was in hospital for 2 days and nights, then I was sent home and a nurse was sent to my home every day for a week to check on how I was doing post surgery. They offered me a woman to come in and do housework but I refused that. Anyway the upshot was we paid $24.00 because I was in the private room for 2 days.

Then about 14 years later and probably about 20 years ago we found ourselves in the US and I'm told that I need another needle biopsy on my thyroid. I actually thought I still had the whole thing because the growth wasn't actually in the thyroid but pressing on the thyroid. Turned out I only had half of my thyroid. So once again I had to have Thyroid surgery. Fortunately we had insurance that would pay 80%. I wasn't too worried about the cost . So I was in hospital less than 24 hours. Sent home, no nurse , no offer of one just sent home. Then the bills started coming. I got bills from doctors I never heard of. Now sure the guy who put me under for the surgery was a doctor, but who were all the others. I actually called them to find out what they did for me. I was told they "consulted", meaning they walked through the room and billed me. Remember I had 80% insurance and the bills I received totaled $12,000.00 !!!!

Were we ever glad to get back to Canada. So a few years ago I had a bleeding ulcer, my blood count was dangerously low and finally it was decided to go in and repair the problem (after many tests and a trip to the ER) so they operated. I spent 7 days in ICU and another 3 in a ward with 3 other ladies. My bill for all that really great care and surgery ? I'm so glad you asked, the bill was nothing. Say what you want about that awful socialized medicine I will choose it over the US system any day. If that had happened to me in the US I would probably be dead and unable to write about it because I would have said 'Oh lets wait another day or so and see it this clears up", I honestly think I didn't have another day and considering the reaction from the nurses around me, and the one who came down to the ICU to tell me how hard she had prayed for me the night before I think I was probably right in my assessment. Can you imagine what the bill would have been in the US? Bankrupt city for us!
